Wall Street just likes a positive outlook. Netflix has never turned a profit, yet it's traded for far more than Disney is. Disney+ has similarly never tuned a profit, had all theme parks closed for periods of time over the last year, cruise line still off line, etc ,etc... and yet their stock price is at around the highest it's ever been.

Like I said, give Wall street a positive outlook and they tend to forgive, especially if investors believe in that outlook.

I don't know that stock values are a good measure of how healthy a company is given that the entire stock market is very clearly entirely divorced from reality at this point.

I wasn't saying stock values = company health. I was sort of meaning the opposite, really. I have a disdain towards the markets and how much people in our government look at them as a sign of economic health.

The stock market is just the world's largest casino and it's all phony. There's no rhyme or reason behind why Netflix, like I said, a company that has never turned a profit and is billions in debt, is listed so high other than "subscribers". There's no rhyme or reason behind why GameStop was over $500 earlier this year either. That's the most blatant example that the stock market says nothing about a company's true health and the NYSE is just a giant casino that was easily played by a sub-reddit.

Jungle Cruise Getting Ready to Set Sale with Help from an Old Friend

Guests visiting Magic Kingdom Park may soon notice the latest updates coming to the Jungle Cruise as they come around that final bend. Trader Sam is charting a new adventure along the river at both Disneyland and Magic Kingdom Parks. Ever wonder what

I'd say this is probably an improvement, but im sure some will disagree.

The previous scene was nothing special. Doesn’t look like they have much of an idea for this either.

It's nothing game-changing, but I like it. It's a nice little tongue in cheek joke with Disney sort of poking fun at themselves about rides ending in gift shops. The theming seems to fit in nicely with the ride, too.

I'm curious what the spieling will be in this area, but that's to be judged later.

it appears we may have a photo op. now. I would imagine the skipper will ask the boat to look and "say cheese" in some corny way.

The design of the scene actually looks very good.

The continued hyping of storylines, "interconnected," "find out what led to this final scene," etc. does not sound good to me, however.

Eh, I don't care about the back story stuff, as long as it can be ignored and isn't made a huge part of the ride.

I mean, yeah, but the way it's being promoted makes it sound like it's not going to be something to be ignored. But we'll see.

I'm getting the sense that more scenes than not are going to be referencing this new storyline.

I mean, I'm fine with this new trader Sams ending...it for sure has more going on for it.

We will see if it works well or not

By any measure, the singular scene itself looks like an upgrade. You keep Sam "alive" as a character in the mythology, just unseen, and you receive a much more elaborate show scene than just a single figure standing there.

It all comes back to what the writing is going to be like throughout the attraction now.

I think it looks fine, but I am getting a bit tired of Disney's "here's a bunch of random junk with *easter eggs*" vignettes recently seen in the Matterhorn refresh + Mission Breakout.

I think going the "replace it totally" route is the correct decision but... yeah I agree on the easter egg part.

"More wildlife and humor will be added to the river voyage along with a new story line following a Jungle Cruise skipper whose journey goes awry."

That sounds pretty definitive.

I think it's okay!

The question still remains about whether a prevalent "storyline" is going to be driving the spieling once all the new scenes are completed, or if that's just extra backstory that is more relegated to the queue and supplementary materials.

If the spiel remains mostly intact and only changed where it has to be (i.e. for completely new scenes), this has every chance of being a very good final product. The new writing just needs to have a light touch.
