Or the hotel, depending on if you consider that to be themed or not. The EU concept art makes it look like a fairly modern hotel on the exterior facade, so it'll be interesting how it'll blend into the park.

I wouldn't call it modern with it's towers and domes, I think it's theme will fit the celestial theme of the hub nicely.

Yea I think Uni Creative would go all in to make sure this hotel is a flagship property for the resort.

I'm actually kind of surprised they haven't broken ground on the hotel yet. I'm sure they have a timeline that will have it ready to open with the park and they don't want it ready too long before the park is, but I feel like it should have at least started some foundation work by now. I don't see this one as the concrete pre-formed walls like Endless Summer, but anything is possible I guess.

I haven't seen any evidence of it yet, but if the hotel uses Finfrock's concrete prefab raise into place method, same as the hotel to be built across the street, it'll go up fast. Literally. But we shall see.

I'm really kind of surprised they haven't set up any tower cranes on site yet. With a project of this scale I'm expecting a few to be used. Is there any sign of footings going in for any yet?

I think they have good access at this point, once you get a bunch of structures they will have towers

I don't know if this question belongs here but @Alicia , regarding Universal donating some of its land to Brightline, would this change the new areas where EU and its hotels are?

I don't think so, im not sure where the land is, but I think its further south, nearer the convention center as well as being more suited to a station than hotels or such

It's land between the Beachline and Destination Parkway with an existing bus/parking area across from the Hilton. It's the kind of ugly brown piece of land here:
www.google.com

Google Maps

Find local businesses, view maps and get driving directions in Google Maps.
www.google.com www.google.com

The vacant land on the opposite side of Destination Parkway is the area being used for the affordable housing. These pieces are all far enough detached from the main park that they are probably more valuable as other things besides hotels.

The bus loop is a central part of Lynx so many connections are available there. Good spot for a station. Park and ride too.

Yeah, it already has a garage that's rarely used more than a couple weeks out of the year, perfect for that.

I wanted to see if I could avoid TTC parking charge once and parked there (free) then rode the bus to the TTC. ($2) I think 1.5 hours? Anyway not worth it.

That's good, there is a lynx bus super stop there, so there is easy public access to the current resort too, I assume though Universal will get some sort of a transportation hub there.

Universal will be building a new transport hub right next to Epic's entrance with bus stops for their own resort hotels and a bus to CityWalk for park hopping. I would assume they will run a bus shuttle on their own between the station and the EU hub.

I was expecting the hub hotel to have a large foot print / lot acreage in addition to being pretty tall ... maybe even convention space? So lot more work than just building it up Aventura style.

Maybe it got delayed to Phase 2? I mean Dock Side just opened very recently and is huge.

From what I can tell when I am waiting for a Lynx bus after work, the bus loop at Citywalk seems to function much better than before too, they are using long switchbacks now so that lines stay organized, and traffic is much more optimized so busses come in non stop.

Bioreconstruct is once again posting. My excitement is immeasurable...and my workday is ruined.

This is the one. Staggering how much work is going on.
