I don’t think m3gan will be moderately successful in the realm of horror, it’s looking to be on track with beating the highest grossing horror movie of 2022 and it already is starting a new franchise, on top of already taking social media by storm more than really any horror icon in a while. They’ve already proven it’s not too hard to put m3gan in the real world with all the promo events either.

My comment wasn't a slight, but let's not pretend M3gan is the next Stranger Things here. It'll probably make around $100 million when it's all said and done.

And getting a few actresses to appear for a few viral moments is a lot different than hiring a cast for 60+ nights at theme park wages (not to mention the troubles that female casts can go through).

I'd argue that M3gan's look is actually a benefit to casting her in a house.

She wares a dress that covers much of her body, and they'd likely do a mask/wig for her anyway. Honestly, they could likely cast any gender to play her, as long as they're smaller of stature.

Oh... The first two insidious movies were some of my favorite horror movies at the time they came out. ever since then has been..... not so great. I agree I would rather another half be a mashup type situation if Blumhouse comes this year.

(although exorcist would be kinda funny for some reason)

M3gan has the kind of cultural penetration that many of the “new” movies that have served as a basis for HHN houses can only dream of. For the moment, at least, it’s a phenomenon. If I’m a soulless entertainment executive, it’s exactly the sort of accessible, buzzy, four-quadrant property that NEEDS to be a full HHN maze, even if the actual substance of the film will struggle to support it. Plus, pair it with Chucky and your advertising campaign writes itself. All this is not to say it will definitely show up at HHN this year, but it makes a lot of sense.

Yeah I didn't take it as a slight and I never said its ST, but I bet it'll top Smile's numbers (~200 million) which would make it quite successful in the realm of horror for current day box office (it would be the highest since a quiet place 2). She's also being embraced incredibly well outside of box office, more than most new horror movies. If you want a big horror movie IP to draw people that's easy to get, nothing is really better than this right now.

Would it be much different than La Llorona's or Bride's casting? If they go the mask route, you can really have any gender play her. But yeah I do agree gross people will unfortunately be gross people.

Bride a La Llorona casting height was over 5 foot, I’m pretty sure. M3gan would *need* to be shorter.

You also have a popular female character. Regardless of how they’re dressed it will cause problems. Sissy Spacek’s Carrie isn’t provocatively dressed and it was so bad the performer quit.

It was over 5 foot, yes. M3gan would need to be Sam (from Trick r Treat) sized - doable, but not easy.

And yeah, the La Lloronas (both in the maze and street) experienced some of the most severe, frequent abuse I've ever seen at the event.

M3gan doesn't really have to be her exact short height, they could do what they've been doing already irl. I don't think most people would really care unless she's super tall.

I mean they're making a sequel for reason, so I wouldn't say totally forgotten. Fans still speak on Malignant.

Sure, the movie has done well but immediately thinking that the film would be given carte blanche at the event is better said than done, I honestly don't see it as a house, a good film yes but I could see it as a backseat this year as most films.

Not that my opinion matters but I will bet money on M3gan not showing up at HHN at all besides MAYBE merch

I'm just saying if I had Chucky already, I kind of have the "doll coming to life" box already checked

This is not to say that the two can't exist together but.....

You know what, I am kind of saying that..seems a bit overkill

While we're on the subject of Blumhouse (I still think M3gan comes but the casting problem presents an issue), they just announced a movie with Wyatt Russell and probable Oscar nominee/winner Kerry Condon. Like M3gan, it's produced by James Wan, and set for January of next year.

Based on this short:

Could be a piece of filler for a Blumhouse maze.

Well, The Last of Us series is getting rave reviews from early viewers. If that continues, they could certainly see this is a potential option.
