They shouldve gotten Joseph Gordon-Levitt...after his appearance in TDKR and people wigging out over what his role in it in the end was, it seems logical. I know he wasnt meant to actually become Batman, but neither was Ben Affleck...at least Levitt has a connection with the series.

Robin?

I know this is a very superficial comment I am going to make, but movies are a visual medium... I love JGL, I do, but he just doesn't have the "Batman look."

I'm keeping my expectations low, but I don't want this to be another Daredevil.

Then why were they going for Bale? Levitt just seems like the natural second choice. Either way, I don't care, I hate mash-up movies because they ultimately ruin (for the most part) any world or continuity that was built in the individual franchises that are being pitted together. So, I'm not really too excited for this one.

I thought Levitt was supposed to be Robin, but Robin never had access to the Batman equipment...I had heard that he was supposed to be Nightwing.

And as to your comment about image, I agree. He doesn't really look like Batman. But neither does Ben Affleck

I think that Bale thing was just rumors getting out of hand. It's insane to think that any 1 person would be worth $50 million, and for any studio to be of sound mind to offer that.

I've seen a few photoshop jobs and he actually looks the part. I have no hesitation to think he can play the Bruce Wayne part with ease, but I'm really curious as to how he is when the suit is on.

Did anyone even want this?
I didn't want this.
I wanted the Joseph Gordon-Levitt Robbin movie that was setup at the end of The Dark Knight Rises.

Disney did it with Robert Downey Jr, so I wouldn't be surprised if WB did it with Bale.

Cranston was awesome as Gordon in the Batman: Year One animated film.

I dig that a lot more.

I know the popular pick is either him or Mark Strong as Luthor but I bet it's going to be someone unexpected, like Batman's casting was.

What I'm still wondering though is how are they going to explain to the audience that Batman's being rebooted again? Like I said earlier, there was a general confusion and mixed opinion over Spider-Man getting rebooted after only five years. How would the general audiences react to Batman getting a reboot after only three years?

This whole thing just screams "marketing disaster."

As stupid as it is, I dont think people have as much of a problem with reboots as much as you think, especially with the prevalence of them today.

Agreed. A few minutes of exposition will be able to set this up as "unrelated to the Nolan/Bale Batman films". As far as marketing goes... well, that's not what my degree is in, so I'll just hope that the guys in charge of selling this movie to the masses have a plan.

I could definitely see the movie starting with Batman, selling him to the audience in the same vein as the Joker in the Dark Knight/Pencil scene, and him wanting to check out this "alien".

...it's a reboot. The whole point is to distance itself from any previous continuity.
