^ It's going inside the fifth hotel plot, not next to the road; they have as much space as they want for the path.

^Theres no room to do that lol. Theres the sidewalk with the road right next to it on one side and the park berm on the other. Unless they were to narrow the road theres no room to significantly change the landscaping along that path

The Cabana Bay walking path isn't on the side of the park, it's on the side of the empty plot/Royal Pacific.

ohhhh, didnt realize they were building a completely new one. That should help then. Still, I agree with Mad Dog...I think much less people actually walk the trails.

Oh a majority definitely doesn't walk, which is kinda a shame, especially on the Portofino/Hard Rock side. That walk is lovely.

Great pics, HTF! Glad to finally see some more vertical construction for this!

I definitely think that most people will use the buses to go back and forth, but sometimes it might be less of a wait or less of a hassle to walk it out than to wait for a bus, or if there's any issues with the buses or roads. I don't think the walk will be as nice as the ones from the Deluxe hotels, but I'm still pretty interested to see how this turns out, seeing as it did look pretty nice on the concepts!

Correct. The current temporary walking path is along the existing sidewalk on the north side of Hollywood way. When complete, the new garden path will be on the south side, and will have greenery as a buffer between it and the road.

Has anyone noticed whether they have temporary arrangements for crossing Hollywood Way? A crossing guard of sorts?

I think it's just the traffic lights right now. I haven't seen or heard of any crossing guards. I don't think many, if any, people are actually walking it out, and there should be even less as it starts to get hotter out.

BTW, is there a known deadline for the pedestrian bridge and path to be completed? I'm guessing it should be around the time the second phase of Cabana opens, but is there a date like there was with the TM parking garage?

It will be done before the 7DMT grand opens! Hahahah!

OK, probably not, but that joke is at least worth a chuckle from a few crazy theme park nerds.

No crossing guard, just a crosswalk signal at the corner of Hollywood & Turkey Lake. As you can see in the video I posted to TouringPlans's youtube channel, Orlando drivers aren't very acomodating to pedestrians ;-)

Yeah, so much for "Walk. (But we are still going to allow cars to turn into your path and possibly strike you.)"

Anyone know what they are doing to accommodate people in wheelchairs and strollers? Elevators or switchback ramps?

^ Ramps are part of the path.

I heard a nasty rumor that the Cabana Bay guests will only have early admission to Hogsmead and not Diagon Alley. Is this true? I don't think CB guests should be punished and other on-site guests get rewarded with EA to DA just because they spent more money on their hotel room.

1) Awesome avatar.
2) Haven't heard anything concrete. What I've heard is they may do alternating days: Cabana Hogsmeade while the rest at Diagon, then vice versa.

I still think it would be unfair to switch days. You pay for on-site you should get full EA.
Thanks about my avatar. It's my summer look.....lol.

On the flipside (and this was discussed a few pages back I believe), it would suck for Early Entry to be packed with hotel guests who paid extra to have that perk. If all 4 hotels go to Diagon Alley at the same time that could get potentially get pretty crowded, thus rendering the perk useless (the whole point is of Early Entry is to beat the crowds), especially when you factor in Cabana Bay's lack of Express Pass. If they were to alternate which hotel get access to what, that ensures a smooth and less crowded experience for all taking advantage of Early Entry.....if that happens to be the case.

But then you got the vicious circle of people that have only so many days worth of vacation and can't have the luxury of alternating days from Hogsmead to DA.
