The concept isn't that unique anymore, I have about 3 different independently run stores just like it that are all great in the area where I live (and I live in Tampa, so it's definitely not a new concept for Florida).

Still doesn't mean it's not a nice addition.

Lol I live in the bay too and recently they've been popping up more and more but whenever i want ice cream I'd usually go to a store like that over coldstone or yogurt naturally for the variety alone. Sure it might not be incredibly original but the concept is still new enough that some might think it is. It also works perfectly in the theme park environment for a quick snack before or after a day at the studios

Menchies is also still uncommon in Florida. The store in universal was the first I've ever heard of it. Closest thing like it that I know of is yogurtology. Still a unique concept though

There's close to a dozen in the Orlando market alone, forget the rest of Florida. That's NOT counting the various knock-offs. It's about as uncommon and unique as Buffalo Wild Wings.

There is one in the loop and in Lake Nona. I know there are more in the Orlando area too. The one in the loop has been there for several years. Honestly you can find them all over the place and they get tiring after awhile. We stopped going over a year ago and honestly haven't had the cravings for them since we stopped going. We just got tired because their flavors start to blend together after awhile. You can also find similar places on pretty much every corner.

NASCAR is closing as Cowfish opens. I bet they'll have the new concept in quickly. Heard UOR has wanted to get rid of NASCAR for awhile.

ESPN Club is packed most of the time.

WDW has a much, much larger captive audience of hotel guests, many of whom who are on the Dining Plan and believe the meme that ESPN is the only bar on property that shows sports.

What has universal done to make you believe they are moving towards original concepts? Besides the mini-golf course and a few of the restaurants, everything is IP based.

I mean, I agree that the park will be original, but I don't see how you say they are moving to more original concepts when they barely have so far (unless you know something being a TM and can't say anything...)

They've just opened like 4 original restaurants in the past year, in addition to the few they already had. Downtown Disney maybe has 5 altogether and they're not even Disney owned or operated so not sure what your point is.

I don't know if you bothered to read the post you quoted, but I clearly mentioned the new restaurants. And I wasn't even talking about Disney, so I don't know where that came from.

I was referring just to CityWalk, not to anything in the parks.

A few of my fellow team members and I were talking about what would be a great replacement for Nascar, and other than another sports bar, I think CW really needs a BBQ restaurant. Let's not talk about chains or anything, I just think a good BBQ place would be most welcome at the resort.

BBQ would be good too. Hard Rock has good BBQ but it's pricey for what it is. I thought the prices at Nascar were a great value (and it had the biggest discount for AP holders too).

I'd love it though if they sepreated the building and had a original SteakHouse with stuff like Brisket and Steaks and all that but the other would be a sports bar themed to Comcasts and it would have the major cross-promotional appeal for Comcast high-ups.

I am in for an original BBQ and Soul Food concept, maybe something like the Hot Dog HoF with selections from different areas.

Ok, then - Soul Food/BBQ Hybrid, it is!

But what will we call it? "Bar-B-Soul" sounds a bit too much like cheap shaving cream.....so how about "Soul-B-Que"?!?
