An Xbox Switch in addition to Xbox games going to other consoles…
The next-generation Xbox will launch in two SKUs, the cheaper one a Switch-like dockable handheld capable of running games natively

I’m trying to wrap my head around what their strategy is at this point. The Switch’s success isn’t just because of the concept of the console, it’s the exclusive games that have sold like crazy with 9 of the top 10 sold all being 20 million +. Handhelds don’t just sell on their own and all you need for proof is the last generation of the 3DS and Vita. The Vita tried to sell itself on the same “home console quality on the go” conceit of the Switch but lacked the games to back it up and failed miserably. The 3DS might have had a turnaround but overall it still disappointed compared to Nintendo’s other handhelds. Its numbers are only a little lower than the GBA but when you consider the GBA was on the market for a shorter timeframe before the DS took over it paints a much less rosy picture.
I guess throwing money at the wall is just one of those luxuries of being a 3 Trillion Dollar Company /shrug
Edit: another thing to add, any Xbox games that go to Steam on PC could be playable on the Steam Deck making a dedicated Xbox handheld even more useless.
