^Ah... that might have been why I had the impression that the lots were empty. I was always coming from the World Drive direction and always parked next to Cirque.

I think of the parking behind Cirque as the "locals parking." Never have to wait for a spot!

How many people go to DTD at night these days anyway? Pleasure Island has been gone for years... I would think it would have been desolate; not a parking issue at all. It was a ghost town the last few times I visited, although it was in the afternoon.

First off I am new here, hello everyone! I like what I have seen of the forum so far. I go out to Orlando frequently. I am headed back in September and November for work. I stay very close to Downtown Disney (sorry not calling it Springs....ever) and after a long day I head over there. Not a huge fan of some of the restaurants but it is something to do. It does get packed.

I rarely go to DTD, and funnily enough, of the few times I've gone, twice has been for Cirque but I never knew of a parking area behind Cirque :stunned: We always parked in the area out in front of Cirque, and it's always been kind of a cluster... and also hard to find spots up front around there.

You think parking by Cirque was a cluster you should have tried parking by the Disney store, that was a disaster compared to where you parked

I still don't understand the whole reasoning behind the "Disney Springs" name. Is changing the name just Disney's way of rebranding here? Because if they wanted to do that they could've just changed the look of the DtD logo and called it a day. "Disney Springs" just doesn't fly off the tongue anywhere near as well as "Downtown Disney".

Not sure if this has already been posted, but the last time I visited DTD I noticed they had removed all murals from the Disney Quest building and it is just one solid color.

Noticed that too. Gah, I miss the teal color of the building already.

I know this might sound like a typical Disney joke but, has there been any noticeable construction going on at all with this project? Last I saw they had the parking lot blocked off and that was about it

Who cares about Disney Quest anymore anyway? It was great 10 years ago but none of the technology has changed.

Tore down Comedy Warehouse, Laffers Cantina, 8-Traxx. Some progress on the bridge around the lake. Walls up everywhere. However, no tenants have been formally announced.

The Save PI blog run by "King Bob" has a lot of photos, keeps a nice running tab on what's been done.

Especially if you're over 21 and can just go to Player 1 down the street. Do you want screaming kids or gorgeous bartenders in cosplay outfits to go with your videogames?

Well hey, if they're re-painting the whole building, maybe that means they're trying to re-brand the place! It may finally be getting the TLC it's always needed!

...

Oh wait, this is TDO we're talking about here. Never mind.

I had always hoped they would turn Disney Quest into an ESPN Zone or similarly-themed sports bar and restaurant. That seems like a logical addition to the area, although I guess Splitsville sort of fills that void now.

Not a bad idea but the only thing I would like to see would to see would be for them to add some sort of widows or anything to that building to get some sort of view both from the outside and inside. Its bugged me for years seeing just a solid concrete box sitting there

Agreed. They must have done that though because of the nature of the attractions. Arcades generally have to be dark inside.

Easy, tinted window so during the day it stays dark inside

I guess so. I've never been inside so I can't express an opinion on what the needs are. But I'm old and I'm thinking back to mall's arcades that were entirely windowless haha.
