He and Jerry Goldsmith's theme are the heart of the attraction. It's been confirmed that the new music will indeed be based off the old theme, but re-orchestrated, composed and arranged, played by the London Studio Orchestra. No composer has been named, but it's rumored to be Brian Tyler, a mentee of Goldsmith.

I would hope that this isn't true, but this does come from a fairly reputable source and I honestly wouldn't put it past them. Hopefully this goes the same way as that stitch space mountain overlay

Say what you will about the Stitch Mountain concept, but I love it. I wish they would put it to use for WDW's Space Mountain. It'd be an excuse to close the terrible Stitch Encounter and give Space Mountain the proper renovation (*ahem* rebuild the damn coaster with a new layout so it isn't Matterhorn in Space!!!) it should've gotten years ago when they decided to mount speakers to the track structure. Ugh.. that was so dumb & pointless. Yay budget cuts. But seriously, if done right, I think Stitch Mountain would be great for Orlando.

As for Soarin'... I still think its dumb that DCA is being forced to get the new "Soarin' Over The World" ride film. It only makes sense for Epcot. We should have an updated "California" ride film (that can be changed seasonally). -sigh-

And lastly... yea, the Guardians of the Galaxy overlay for Tower of Terror rumor first surfaced like what? last year or something. And now suddenly it has resurfaced so hard that it is actually trending on Facebook right now.  I'm in the "I'll believe it when I see it" camp, but sadly I fear it will happen. Now I was told that apparently Hollywood Land would become a mini "Marvel Land". Hence the reason why there has yet to be an announcement for a "Mad T Party" replacement (..."Awesome Mixtape Party with DJ StarLord" anyone?). Allegedly the rumor is that a different themed land would be built on the lot behind Hollywood Land, but NOT Marvel.  Anyway, apparently the two soundstages on either side of Monsters Inc would be demolished in order to build a Marvel themed "mega" coaster. And Monsters Inc would get turned into a Marvel themed dark ride.

And to make this whole rumor make your brain really hurt.... The Muppet Theatre would become a movie preview theatre for whatever new upcoming Disney movie was on the way (kinda like what they have been doing at DHS for the past few years). And of course Frozen at the Hyperion would still exist. Sooo yea. As I said, I'll believe this Marvel rumor when I see it.

OH YEA.... HAPPY 12TH ANNIVERSARY "TOWER OF TERROR" HOLLYWOOD!!!

I don't mind the Marvel mini land as it seems to only be taking up the Hollywood Backlot area of Hollywoodland which is terribly underused. Plus it saves that area behind TOT for a proper CA themed land. The only thing I don't understand is that the Guardians tower would now be farther from the rest of the marvel attractions, which is odd since I thought it was originally supposed to be a transition between the two areas back when the plan was to put marvel behind TOT

I say leave Tower of Terror alone since it is next to the Hyperion... I'd hate to see the "old Hollywood" vibe that ToT & Hyperion has be removed. The way I would like to see them change up this side of the park is....

- move "Turtle Talk with Crush" to Paradise Pier (or Pacific Wharf)
- Replace Disney Junior Live with something else (Disney Junior is terrible in general, not just this "show" which has creepy puppets lol)
- Replace Anna/Elsa meet-n-greet with Mickey/Minnie/Goofy/Pluto/Donald Hollywood award show attire (they're probably relocating back to Fantasyland at some point)
- Keep ToT, Hyperion (Frozen), & Red Car Trolley, Sorcerer's Workshop/Animation Academy (don't fix what isn't broken)

Now as for the area that Monsters Inc, Muppet Theatre & the soundstages are located, I say turn THAT into a mini Marvel Land. It already has entrance archways for signage. If they demolished the soundstages & Muppet Theatre, it'd really give them quite a bit of space to work with.

- Marvel themed coaster (as rumored)
- Themed meet-n-greet areas (Captain America & Spiderman are already in Hollywood Land, Thor needs to be brought back ....from Asgard)
- Monsters Inc could be gutted & replaced with a Marvel themed dark ride (as rumored)
- A nightly "Awesome Mixtape Party with DJ Starlord" (Electronica/Mad T Party were popular)
- Depending on execution & use of space, they could have a new Marvel themed dining restaurant (MARVEL MANIA ANYONE? :P ) or even another ride/attraction

The problem is, little kids absolutely love Disney Jr. Live. I had friends in it and used to go to be supportive and let me tell you, the children absolutely eat that show up. They go ham for it. Muppet Theater is already being turned into just a preview theater. They already changed the name of it. I don't remember what it is now since I'm annoyed but. It's happening. It's real. (I'm a huge Muppets stan. I don't want to think about it.)

Marvel mini-land has been in the works for quite some time now, but I'm bummed that Monstropolis got canned. I'm pretty sure the areas Wesker mentioned are the only ones they plan on touching so far. (At least from what I've been told.) And then Tower, but I have mixed feelings about that part anyways. Our ToT is subpar in comparison to WDW so I'm not super bummed about it, despite being a Twilight Zone fan. I am bummed about the fact that it's probably going to end up being the same boring ride system/track/whatever with just an overlay and the outside will get all the attention. It's one of my favorite DCA attractions, but if there's a chance to make it what it could be? Go for it, I guess.

Take it for salt (even as is this rumor has truth), from Screamscape regarding on DCA's possible version;

Screamscape sources have confirmed for us that the Guardians of the Galaxy transformation for the Twilight Zone: Tower of Terror attraction at Disney California Adventure is 100% locked in now and happening. While we don't know exactly when the ride will close down (best guess is sometime after summer, either in fall or early winter) the plan is to have the new Guardians version up and running in time for the May 2017 opening of the Guardians of the Galaxy 2 movie premier.

As we previously rumored, the overall theme of the building will now be based around the character from the first film known as The Collector, or more importantly, his collection of rare and unique artifacts gathered from around the galaxy. I've been told that the story will essentially be somewhat similar to the unique story told in Tokyo DisneySea's Tower of Terror...but with a Marvel/SciFi spin to it all. As we saw in the first Guardian's film, sometimes the items gathered by The Collector can be a bit temperamental, and even explosive.

This will be the starting block for what will eventually become a Marvel themed section of the park it seems, but the main problem is that the transition from the old "Hollywood" theme into the new SciFi theme is going to be quite jarring and sudden, to say the least. So it should be interesting to see how this plays out as the first Marvel themed attraction for the US market.

I'm still calling baloney on this. Why fix what isn't broken? I'm not buying this. Probably a rumor that got mixed up in a game of telephone or something.

It's not a matter of fixing it, it's a matter of no longer paying royalties to CBS for a property that this generation knows nothing about.

Remember a while back when the royalties to Aerosmith were going to end for Rockin Roller Coaster? Rumor was that they were going to change it to Miley Cyrus to stop paying royalties. That obviously happened. I think this is another one of those wonky rumors. They'll renew the lease. Even if the uncultured people have no idea about the show, it's at least iconic.

Also, if it's a royalty issue, why is WDW not going to have theirs redone but ours supposedly is? Doesn't make any sense.

Yea, it definitely has nothing to do with not wanting to pay for the Twilight Zone name/theme. It is more along the lines of Disney finally trying to make an effort to cash in on the Marvel brand in the parks that aren't just a meet-n-greet/photo-op, at least on this coast...

And as I've said before, why waste time, money & effort on redoing an already perfect ride that is separated from the rest of the "land" by the Hyperion Theatre. Just leave that half of HollywoodLand alone.

Using Muppets Theatre as a movie preview "attraction" is a waste of space. That whole half of Hollywood Land could've been walled off & under construction a long time ago. Of course, I'd have rather seen a better HollywoodLand concept over Marvel (or Monsteropolis ...unless they built the door coaster).

Also... I wouldn't be surprised if DHS got Guardians ToT as well. I'm sure there is some Marvel contract loophole that'd allow them to do it there. Starlord & Gamora have already made a character appearance in the park.

Take on the OU site, theres a extremely good article about the contract and one thing in particular that Disney can't build Marvel "Attractions" within a 60 mile radius. For those keeping home, UO to DHS is about ten to twenty miles.

There is always a loophole, especially when you're a giant rat with money... also, they can't "build" anything Marvel.... doesn't mean they can't vomit Marvel on top of an existing ride/attraction. But yea... if it happens there, its not that big of a deal because Universal is going to have to upgrade the entire land after the "incredible" revamp of Hulk due to it making the land look like crap lol

But no, I am sure there is some loophole Disney could use if they really wanted/needed... as for Disneyland... I honestly don't think they have any idea what the hell they're doing. Personally, Star Wars Land is NOT reaching its full potential. From the concept art, it looks like they're going to "oh hey, this is new & heavily detailed", but completely neglecting the fact that the land doesn't offer as much as it could/should.

I fear that Marvel Land will suffer from the short-sighted planning. .....Deadpool is a Marvel character, Disney should partner with FOX to create a new ride/attraction based on the best Marvel movie ever!  Deadpool meet-n-greet!!! B)

It's not happening in DHS because it can't. Period. That contract is ironclad.

I had to say a presumptive goodbye to ToT today. I hate this rumor and I can't wait for the Disney Parks Blog to take the heat when breaking the news. This should be temporary but whatever.

I really really really really hope this just doesn't end up happening for reasons.

"""""Temporary""""" at Disney means it's here to stay for at least five years.

Take it for what you want, but don't expect it to be a 'Temporary' attraction.

Still temporary.  ;)

Robert Niles posted about it which sounds speculatory but seems constructed to make what he knows sound like a guess, because it sounds dead-on. Part of it suggests that the Hollywood Tower theme would remain, which I think I could live with.

Yea its not temporary considering they plan to turn Hollywood Land into Marvel Land... I can't see them keeping the Hollywood Tower theme... unless they were extremely lazy with the GotG conversion. Eitherway, I don't want it to happen because its a perfect ride on its own (even if DHS has the better version).

I know it's not temporary: I wish it was.

And I want them to keep the Hollywood Tower theme... it's effin Hollywood Land. Marvel Studios is now slated for the old Hollywood Studios area, so it would just be there on its own little dumb island. Especially with the Red Car Trolley running back and forth, it needs to stay Hollywood to be thematically appropriate.
