Nope. I've stayed on property at either resort all of once. And that was at All Star Sports for my Senior Trip. The off site resorts and hotels are too good and too cheap for it to be worth it, IMO.

I have to disagree. Yes, even the cheapest WDW hotels are too expensive, I really do think there is something to be said for being completely confined in the resort.

Have I stayed offsite? Sure. Sometimes money requires it. But honestly, there's nothing like staying on property.

There absolutely is. But at the same time, there is something to be said for being a broke 20 something .

Staying on site is more of something for a family experience, IMO. But my family got a very cheap construction rate on a timeshare that we've used whenever I've gone with them. I'm sure I'll change my tune when it's time for me to bring my kids to Disney World. But as for my and I believe UNIrd's current situations, it's not worth it.

Oh yea. I just started my real job and I can't afford to stay on site without a CM discount haha.

I wish DVC was affordable. I'd totally consider joining.

Same. But I also really hate the points system idea.

I could deal with it. In all reality, my family should have jumped on it in its infancy. You know, when it was actually "Disney's best kept secret".

I just don't like not having something guranteed. Idk. My family really lucked out. They got a week at Westgate Vacation Villas pre-construction super cheap. Then did the same with the Lakes closer to Universal. I like it a lot better since we actually have a deed and a set week. But I know that would never work at Disney.

I didn't know it was ever a real secret

Before they pimped it out like they do to everything now, it wasn't really all that publicized.

I mean I'm hoping to eventually be able to afford it. But that's a long way down the road.

I'm not, considering the prices I just paid to visit DLR in Cali vs the cost of DVC I just can't justify the added expense. I mean I live in central Florida so the only thing I would ever use it for is cruises, Cali, and hopefully one day Shanghai and TDLR!

Yeah, I wouldn't consider $250 a night a value  Maybe the price will go down after it's been open a little while? :look:

idk why everybody think DVC is so expensive, just like all other timeshares you can talk the price down, we are DVC members, and we pay 105 with a total price of 21,000 that is a steal of a deal to me.

I don't even know what those numbers mean.

Anyway, for the first weekend in June, the family suites are $400 a night. Not a value at all, considering you can probably get 3 to 4 rooms at the other Value resorts for that price and even more off-site.

Luckily, the Little Mermaid Standard Rooms open up in December, but even those right now are going for a not so Value-ish $179 a night.

Okay, is it wrong that I love a Value Resort food court? And how good does this sound?

From the Disney Parks Blog:
“The idea is that you customize your choice,” says Chef Ed Wronski, Director, Food & Beverage Concept Development, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. “From burgers to pasta, salads, ethnic flavors, omelets, even parfaits and gelatos, everything is made fresh as you order.”

There’s a big focus on beverages, too. Fresh fruit smoothies are made to order, ditto for lemonade and pomegranate limeade. They’re stocking organic teas, beer (including gluten free), wine, coffee and juices. You can get a plain cup of coffee or a French vanilla or mocha iced. And half bottles of wine are paired with cuisine from the food shops.

We got a sneak peek at the menu, and here are some of the highlights:

The Soup-Salad-Sandwich Shop lets you create your own salad (with beef or chicken) and offers a caprese sandwich with fresh mozzarella and tomatoes on focaccia, or a Buffalo-style turkey sandwich with arugula and a blue cheese-Buffalo sauce-mayo spread. Both are served with delish house-made potato chips.

The World Flavors Shop adds Indian-African flair to breakfast, too, with scrambled eggs, tandoor potatoes, Portuguese sausage, slab bacon and a mini-naan; or a veggie flatbread sandwich on naan with cauliflower, spinach and paneer. Lunch and dinner is a choice of tandoori chicken or shrimp, Mongolian beef with vegetables, mahi mahi, Portuguese sausage or roasted acorn squash served with sides and naan bread.

The Pizza Shop features make-your-own pasta, cheese and pepperoni pizzas and meatballs on ciabatta bread. Room delivery is an option, too.

The Burger Shop includes a breakfast burger with chicken breakfast sausage, cheese and scrambled eggs on a multi-grain bun, and a steak-and-eggs breakfast burger with a burger topped with fried eggs, cheese and bacon. Besides the traditional burgers, lunch and dinner includes a surf and turf burger with crab cake and fried popcorn shrimp, and a pastrami cheeseburger topped with pepper jack cheese and a slice of fried green tomato.

The “grab ‘n go” Market Shop offers drinks, yogurt, bagels, pastries, gourmet cupcakes, cookies and gelato.

Great shake-up compared to the normal generic food court the values have.

The inside hallways are a huge plus for this thing.

Excited to see the finished product.
