It looks huge!

I love Disney's Value Resorts. It will be great to have one more option.

What are the big white things that curve down from the roofs on the third center wing of each building? Are they giant writing scrolls?

It appears that those are indeed "pads of paper", and sketch pads fit well thematically with a resort about animation.

Are they going to project animations on those "pads" on the walls?

If so, then it would end up looking pretty dull in the daytime. Disney tends to like everything looking pretty and finished all the time.

Overview of new food options from Disney Parks Blog

Tandoor Ovens, Mongolian Grill, and Real Gelato at Landscape of Flavors at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

We got a chance to talk with Michelle Clegg, food & beverage operations manager for the soon-to-open Landscape of Flavors food court at the new Disney’s Art of Animation Resort that debuts next month at Walt Disney World Resort.

They’re still tweaking the menu, but all sorts of creative new items make this the next generation of Disney food courts. Even burgers are “create your own”; you can start with a beef, chicken or veggie burger, and then the kitchen will pile on your favorite toppings (say, pepperjack cheese, pickles, tomatoes, onions and lettuce). But most fun are the four onstage tandoor ovens where chefs will bake bread and roast chicken, shrimp, sausage and acorn squash and other veggies – Michelle says that the roasted acorn squash is her favorite dish at the new restaurant. Tandoors are cylindrical ovens that reach very high temperatures and quickly bake, so it should be a grand onstage show for diners. The real treat is naan, a delicious Indian bread that’s slapped directly onto the oven’s walls and left to bake until puffy and lightly browned, perfect for wrapping all sorts of delicious food.

And the restaurant’s Mongolian grill is another new touch – 3 feet in diameter, the chefs will make everything onstage, from challah bread French toast for breakfast to grilled beef and fish for lunch and dinner.

There’s lot of attention on “better-for-you” options, so you’ll find buckwheat waffles and pasta, multigrain rice, low-fat smoothies, egg white frittatas and make-your-own yogurt parfaits. But it’s all about choices, so there are still pizzas and fries (and chocolate chip pancakes).

And we’re excited to see real gelato on the menu, the Italian version of ice cream with less butterfat but bigger flavor. That and a whole menu of coffee drinks, including iced French vanilla, iced mocha, cappuccino, espresso and mochachino. We’ll carpool to the new resort for our 3 p.m. break!

Sorry but aside from the iced coffee and the breakfast most of these choices seem out of place  I mean isn't this supposed to aimed towards families. Most of this looks like crap and kids would never eat it. Even if its not intended for the youth I still see it as a hard sell for most Americans. I personally would be looking for a sandwich, piece of pizza, fried chicken, you know all that stuff thats bad for you that you don't feel bad eating since your on vacation.

I have to agree... That food looks so brown and depressing. It's hard to imagine picky little kids wanting to eat that

The saturation is way way off in those photographs, as though they were taken in the 1950's. Were they processed through instagram? Dreadful release by any photographer/marketing dept. let alone a mega corp like Disney.

The food doesn't look bad. They'll have the burgers and fries for the masses, as usual, but I'm glad Disney is taking a chance and not just dumping an All-Star menu here. Remember.. this "value" resort costs most families $300+ a night. They should have options for different taste palettes.

It's more in the $250 price range, but yeah, definitely a higher standard should be held to this resort than to the other "Values". AoA is a tale of two hotels. Cars, LK and Nemo being the more moderate side (costing around said $250 price range) and then Little Mermaid being the more standard value (like the other values and priced similarly).

I'd actually say a higher standard should be held to those three actually even than the actual moderates considering the higher price (I can book POR Riverside right now for $134 just doing a quick google search), MUCH bigger rooms, indoor hallways, RFID Keys (lol), better food court menu, etc. Honestly, it seems to be WORTH a higher price than the moderates in all honesty. Worth $250 a night...eh, not sure. But you're definitely getting more amenities at AoA than at the moderates.
