the layout for the park is horrible i grant you that. i can understand why they've been waiting years and have put in near the bottom of their list it's difficult just to decide where anything should go. i'd say just redo the whole park, but that's billions upon billions of dollars lost and wasted. the whole situation is just ugh.

um? the Great Movie Ride is a classic, it should never leave. getting updated is another thing entirely though, update it but don't get rid of it!

Jaws was much more "classic" than GMR and simply a better attraction all around. How well did that work out for it?

I'm with you on every point Dave, but you can't compare the Disney method and mentality with Universal's

The Great Movie Ride was on the "blue sky" chopping block clear back in 2000 and its replacement involved CAVE technology. A technology we may finally see in Ratatouille. At least that's how I remember it

The concept is sound...just needs to keep being updated something Disney doesn't like to do ...

As far as RnR goes, I'm happier with Aerosmith than I would be with something like Hannah Montana (remember those rumors?) but not as happy as I'd be with a Red Hot Chili Peppers tie-in.

But I might just be bitter about all the RHCP there's been in DLR... just a tiny bit.

And I'll only say taking out classics is justified if the replacement is going to be on par with WWoHP, so.

Until DHS wakes up and does a DCA style makeover, there is no reason for me to spend $88 for a day there.

I was gonna say, if they were gonna replace aerosmith with anyone in RnR, The only people that'd make me happy would be RHCP...

Oh how I wish somebody, somewhere would create a Beatles attraction.
But that's another subject.

I may be in the minority here but I rather enjoy hearing the Aerosmith songs and having the ride themed towards them. I hope they leave out alone if you ask me.

I definitely like the ride just fine as is. I was surprised someone criticized the themeing inside as lackluster. What does that make something like HRRR then?

I don't think a DCA makeover will cut it though, I mean Carsland works for DLR but there are more things to work on than just make it improve on an area in the park. They need more of a major overhaul and redesign of practically the whole park.

That's why they need more distinct "Lands"
Lucasland
Muppetland
Pixar Place
Old Hollywood
and I guess animation courtyard?

But are these really distinct lands or mere groupings based on branding? How does Indiana Jones fit into the world of Star Wars except by being a Lucasfilm property? Are Toy Story and Cars somehow in the same world?

They could expand the Pixar studios brick facades to where the studio tour entrance is and have entrances kind of like TSMM where you enter a studio building and sort of enter the world of each movie. Could have the indoor Monsters Inc ride and a big outdoor land like either Incredibles or Carsland.
Change Studio Catering Company to Pizza Planet (which actually DOES tie all the Pixar movies together) put a Pixar brick facade in front of HISK and change it to Bugs Life.

The park is "Hollywood Studios" So make all the lands Studios.

Muppet Studios is half done. Retheme the current Pizza Planet to its original Gonzo concept. Voila a much more fleshed out Muppet Studios Land.
Put Star Wars and any Indy property under Lucasfilm. (Will it still be called that?)
Make everything behind the Animation arch "Disney Studios" ...The new Pirates thing, Little Mermaid or its replacement, and anything else strictly Disney behind the arch.

So maybe
"Disney's Hollywood Studios"
Old Hollywood
The Walt Disney Studios
Pixar Studios
Lucasfilm
Muppet Studios
