Don't let Disney hear you say that or we may end up with a project as dragged out as New Fantasy land.

I don't want another fantasy land!!!! They could have build all that at once, because they didn't need to pull any rides down. I disagree with the person that said they were fixing capacity, because we have the same amount of rides that we did when this project started.

We had a walk thru (mickey's house) now we have a walk thru (belle)
We had a dark ride (snow white) we have a dark ride (mermaid)

They opened up new things in new areas and closed old things in other areas. The only thing we got was double capacity in Dumbo (which I might add the playland in dumbo is AMAZING), but that just moves people through faster to clog up other rides. It doesn't mean more people are going thru the line. The line for dumbo tends to be pretty short now.

The only thing that will add a ride is 7d, but it should have opened WITH the rest, there is no excuse for that one. It makes the whole fantasy land opening stupid because there is still construction walls and flow issues because of the construction (circus needs to hook up with mermaid).

I am still waiting on any kind of confirmation on this, but I think Burbank, who has pretty much been micro-examining WDW books since Meg was "promoted", sees the writing on the wall as far as numbers/profits are concerned. EVERYONE knows that WDW's numbers AND guest spending are down. New Fantasyland isn't helping. And they have nothing else in the pipeline to stop the bleeding. They are also fully aware that Universal is attempting to woo WDW's bored/fed up "dedicated" fan base with new exciting attractions and "Traditional" Disney Quality and Service. So WDW's numbers are going to get worse before they get better and the only thing at this point that will stop the falling numbers is attractions. BIG, EXCITING, AND DETAILED ATTRACTIONS! So I would not be surprised if Burbank forced TDO to take the bitter pill and pony up the bucks to fast track Cars Land. I almost think Burbank may do it just to "punish" the remaining execs at TDO for being arrogant and apathetic. TDO really has hurt the brand.

Ah that is a fact not an opinion. The rides that went were lower capacity rides, replaced with higher capacity rides.

The problem is Disney is managing four theme parks like they are all one. Most other amusement parks (at least the worthwhile ones) add something major about every 3-4 years. Off years usually include minor additions and refurbs. Instead they somehow feel that they only need to add something major to the entire resort every 3-4 years. That suddenly allows a park to go 16 years, which is obscene! Would your local Six flags still be in business if their most recent coaster was added in the 90's?

Even if Disney cut that schedule in half (which I think would thrill people by comparison) we should expect an E-ticket every two years... C-D tickets in the off years and constant major refurbs like Test Track occurring bi-annually across the resort. Not to mention the waterparks and everything else! It's the one Disney mentality, if the four theme parks were independently managed and "competed" against one another can you imagine the possibilities?

Yes but all of that requires effort...plus the parks competing with each other is not a good business strategy...
In my opinion AK should have never happened, it's too much

you make a valid point, but then again they did go decades without any amusement park posing any real threats to them until now so it's not like the tactic hasn't ever worked. i'm not justifying their logic, i'm just saying how can you expect them to just up and understand how to respond to this onslaught of failure when they haven't ever really faced it before. they have no experience with this to help them handle the fact that they just aren't the "in" resort anymore at the moment.

What's that old biological phrase? "Adapt or die."

Rearranging the deck chairs is nice, but maybe they should try and turn this thing before it hits that iceberg.

that's not exactly a phrase, but you did put Darwin bluntly

and we can repeat that complaint as much as we want, it doesn't mean they'll listen to the fans. they're still set in the ways that made them succeed years prior, they just don't get it.

But they sort of have...
When Universal was going to open in 1990 Disney put the gas on the construction at MGM to ensure it opened first. That's also part of why MGM opened with I think only 2-3 working attractions.

Does anyone else not want a Carsland in DHS? I desperately don't want to see Carsland here, especially since I actually kinda like DHS as it is (I know, one of the few). It doesn't fit the theme at all and IMO, it should remain unique to California. Maybe that's just me, but honestly I would actually lose interest if Carsland was added.

I'd rather see something else, but Cars Land is effing amazing and I would not complain if it went into DHS.

I'm with you on that. I wouldn't mind a Radiator Springs ride because it is a fantastic ride, but I think Carsland as a whole should stick to Cali. Personally, I think they should expand the Pixar area with franchises that are ripe for attractions (Incredibles *ahem*) instead and keep the Route 66 charm in DCA.

I agree, with having TSM already, I think it would be silly to add a whole land surrounding one pixar branch, it should be all and they can take one of the rides from carsland and bring it here.

I would prefer if something original comes instead, but at this point I'll gladly take any good thing DHS gets.

Not that this means anything, but LMA and the backlot are specifically mentioned as landmarks you run by in the Tower of Terror 10 miler. I doubt the runDisney crew updated the blurb or would even know about them closing, but I figured I'd mention it.

FYI, the event just opened for registration and takes place in early October.

I'm not against it, but I'm not for it either. They should market on other Pixar movies that'd fit better for both MGM and Florida, like Incredible or Monsters Inc (considering Monsters U is coming out).

Idk Radiator Springs just comes off as more California's thing, Florida needs its own thing.

I am not sure how, with Cars being a popular PIXAR movie that, it wouldn't fit the theme of PIXAR PLACE.

I think a Cars attraction will fit DHS, last time I went the grass sculptures in front were all Cars characters and they were popular with people.
