Don't know what's coming (other than TWD)--only what's not. But ... supposedly next IP is another "Holy cow" one.

I'm starting to dry up on IP's that would be truly 'holy cow' at this point that haven't appeared yet. I mean, most of the biggest hitting horror franchises have been represented at HHN at this point (Halloween, Nightmare, Friday, Saw, Texas Chain Saw, The Exorcist, The Evil Dead even if it was based on the remake, Chucky, American Werewolf, The Thing... the list goes on.)

Poltergeist (the original perhaps) might surprise some folks... Perhaps even a stand alone Alien maze based on the first or first 2 films. The only big horror classic I could see truly being a shocker is The Shining considering rumors of HHN trying to work with King in the past to no avail.

When it comes to a IP that would be a "Holy Crap" one, I'll admit something from Steven King would fit the bill considering he doesn't really want to work with haunts. Though out of the two most people say (Shining or IT), they would probably have a better chance with the Shining since even with the lack of characters they could use, there's still a lot of creepy scenes they can try to emulate.

As for IT, I'll be blunt. That would be right up there with the Exorcist in difficulty of execution. Everybody remembers Pennywise, but besides him what else are you going to use? Both scene and character-wise? Because that true form of "IT" is well...hokey. I'm having trouble how one could give the house a strong finish with that thing.

I'd say just give me Killer Klowns from Outer Space and have fun with it.

I love Killer Klowns From Outer Space, but let's be honest... There is very little about it that would significantly separate it and make it stand out from Clown houses in the past.

Well, besides the fact they are aliens and wrap you up in cotton candy cocoons; and can kill you with shadow puppets.

Pure speculation, as I said, I don't know what it is. But agreed Poltergeist or anything King would certainly qualify. I'd add Pinhead, Ghostbusters (yeah, I knew fandom is split) and the Creature from the Black Lagoon (AFAIK last classic monster to never get his own house). Or it could be something out of left field.

Re: Stephen King discussion, anyone know why he's not big on haunted houses? Not a huge fan, but the interviews I've seen with him suggest a playful sense of humor that would be into helping design one. Guy bought a radio station just so he could play DJ. And based on some of his movies--while, he's not quite a JK Rowling-level stickler when it comes to quality adaptations (not that I don't think HHN would do him right).

To be fare though, the only reason you would know they are aliens is because we are told they are such. Without that context, you could pick up the clowns from the movie and place them in any clown themed house and people would go "wow, those are creepy looking clowns," not "those clowns are aliens!"

As far as the cotton candy cocoons and shadow puppets... Again, they are presented in such a comical and cartoonish way that without the context of "hey, aliens, scifi!" most guests would write it off as being just another outlandish addition to a house sub-genre known for playing up the camp angle.

Nothing about the property is truely stand out enough from other clown houses in my opinion to justify paying for the IP when they could do something, and have to an extent in the past, similar enough within the confines of an original house.

And I probably took that way to seriously LOL

In a way, I have to assume that if Bioshock is incoming, it will be Orlando exclusive.

I have always wanted to see a Dead Space or Bioshock house as both of those could be absolutely terrifying. Has anyone else played SOMA? I know that is little indie game and would never be popular enough to make a house out of but is also another perfect setting for a twisted and dark underwater type house. I wans't here for interstellar terror and i have always wanted a good space house.

The only horror game series I could see having any kind of relevance today that hasn't been used is Until Dawn... And maybe Dead Space...

As far as TV Shows go, I can see people going crazy over AHS, though I would be on the 'meh' side of that one. The series is losing its edge for me. The only horror tv show I'd be excited to see is Penny Dreadful.

As far as horror books... I can think of any truely memorable and equally popular ones that were not written by King at the moment lol... Unless they got in bed with R.L. Stien... But I think Goosebumps is a little too young skewing to appear at HHN... However, Cirque Du Freak got a scare zone, so I guess anything is possible.

Well, that would surely be a 'Holy Cow' IP, but for completely different reasons than The Exorcist was... And it surely isn't a good movie by any means
