You know, if you constantly took things at face value at what's considered scary or not, you'd all be trashing H.R. Bloodengutz, Slaughter Sinema, Ghost Town etc. Need I mention Bill & Ted which wasn't scary nor horror at all?
Not to mention time and time again, walking through a house is a bit different than watching a movie/tv show. Also, it's not like Orlando hasn't gotten creative with a property before. Just because something may not be considered horror or scary doesn't mean it can't be. I was unsure of how Stranger Things would turn out, and it quickly proved to be a lot scarier than I thought it would, and I noticed many others who felt the same.
So if Gremlins is coming, I say bring it on! There's plenty of opportunities for sheer puppet mayhem, and considering the puppets Orlando makes, I have faith they'll do it right.
Variety is the spice of life, people. Open your mind and you can be surprised at what you'll enjoy.
