When did 2022 map 1.0 appear? As early as this one? Because it looks like 8/10 were directionally accurate (if misnamed).

Edit: more like 6/10, I guess.

1.0 had 3 outright wrong, and the general idea of 3. (If I recall, it wasn't sure what Evil Dead we were getting until much later). I'd say a 6/10 score.
2.0 had 2 wrong and the gist of Destruction (Underground Creatures) 7.5/10

First they thought Evil Dead 2.... Then 2 with a little bit of Rise... then Rise with Deadites from all the movies... It was confusing lol

That is far more likely!

And with the outer space/Invasion! teases, it does feel like the Anchor in the spec map is more referring to what an anchor is usually attached to, a ship. And that high up you have a spaceship!

Also can't help but get the feeling A&D is giving great themes a second chance in a house, as they were utterly wasted in the San Fransico Squeeze. And this is by no means a complaint as I loved Dead Man's Pier, and an Invasion! house has some great potential.

11 houses. Should help a bit with wait times on some individual houses. Also makes it that much more difficult to do the whole event in one night.

There's also the MIB tent I suppose

My biggest fear with more houses is that we'd see a more spread out cast with more timed effects (air blasts, drop doors, AAs, etc)

These effects enhance houses but if you miss them then you miss them, where as actors can step on their pedal whenever they want

I also find it interesting how most of these locations were wrong on both spec maps even though 8/10 eventual houses appeared on the second one:

Bugs was assumed to be a soundstage on both when it ended up being a sprung tent
Chupacabra went from a sprung tent to the F&F tent when it was a soundstage
Halloween was assumed for a parade building until much later in the spec season when a soundstage entered the realm of possibility, swapping with Monsters
The Weeknd was always in a parade building, just not the eventual one

Dead Mean's Pier, Descendants of Destruction, and *somewhat* Blumhouse since the F&F tent replaced the MIB tent were the only correct locations from the first two spec maps.

Same, the MIB tent is most likely out of the question this year as the new queues for Parade will likely prevent them from using the Sprung tents original queue layouts, forcing the upper one to still use the long walk around MIB itself, which in turn prevents the MIB tent house from happening.

If a 11th house is happening, the flex space in Minion's Blast is really the only viable option, and it would be a welcome one considering it's very easy to enter and exit from, that and it can help spread the crowds a bit more with a house there and the other across the street at Minion Mayhem...granted either house has to be a property the crowds want to flock to, as I recall Hellblock didn't really draw much of a crowd when I was there. (Special circumstances, but still.)

Technically not even Pier, wrong soundstage.

I'd give a little leeway there since the queueing for soundstages changes almost every year, but the music plaza queue has been either Soundstage 22 or 23 every year since 2015, never 24 where Pier ended up. Neither of 23's eventual houses (Halloween and Hellblock/Evil Dead) were correct on these first two maps, both being Parade 2 as their first spec location.

Agreed on all counts, and a very good thing to mention with FNaF, Matthew Lillard confirmed he has a three-picture deal. Chances are it's a multi-picture option where the fate of the 2nd & 3rd films depend on how well the 1st one does. Add in the sheer fact this film has been in development hell for quite some time, there's no doubt Blumhouse is being careful and not rushing it.

Didn't know that detail. Buckle up guys, we're not just getting one house.

In this sort of scenario, I think it's more likely we get FNAF as a house as a lead up to the second film if the first one is successful.
