It's only for three days. Most people that are there during that weekend, are there for the event. As for the event, the only thing extremely religious about the whole thing is the Sunday service.

One thing that everyone seems to be ignoring is the big picture. As hoped and thought, Universal can and may add different soundtracks for other events such as Halloween Horror Nights (remember the big HHN soundtrack wishlist thread?).

If anything you guys should be happy, because that means that they can update the soundtrack and that we might get more permanent songs and a new genre (Christian Rock) from this AND that means more additional songs and genres in the future.

Its good and bad, on the one had they can add tracks, on the other its music I don't care for, so it doesn't bother me either way.

But I'll be the first to admit, that some Christian rock can be good, just look at Creed's early work, THAT was rock music BY Christians, and it was great as heck music. So I would be all in to have "With Arms Wide Open" on Rockit especially with people putting their arms in the air

I agree that the possibility of adding and switching tracks is great. I will also agree that the music in itself is good, but the message it conveys is not approriate for a public theme park ride, especially in the U.S. where there are so many peolpe from different backgrounds that could be offended.

I doubt Universal would only have the Christian Rock music as the only option.

It's for one weekend...and it's Rock The Universe. If you go on RTU weekend and do not do enough research to find out it is Rock The Universe weekend well that is your own fault.

True, but UO also has to realize that half the people that show up to their parks don't know about these annual events, nor do they care. They want to ride the rides AS NORMAL, not modified and be punished because they showed up on the wrong weekend.

I'm just sure these will be songs IN ADDITION to the ones already available.

I'm still concerned that some of you have not heard a single song from Switchfoot, The Afters, Relient K, Family Force 5, or some of the other bands. YouTube, guys, five minutes. Regardless of your religious views, this should be good news for everyone. The songs on Rockit are getting a little stale now. If you really think you can't like music by Christian bands, be open-minded for five minutes, and try a few of these while imagining riding Rockit:

"Love Addict" - Family Force 5
"Radiator" - Family Force 5
"Earthquake" - Family Force 5
"The Sound (John Perkin's Blues)" - Switchfoot
"Stars" - Switchfoot
"Bullet Soul" - Switchfoot
"Who I Am Hates Who I've Been" - Relient K
"High of 75" - Relient K

Have you ever listened to any of the bands on this year's lineup? Not all Christian bands sing soley about religious. And once again, it's for a three-day religious event, not a permanent thing or even a month-long thing. 3 days.

Example: Erfquake by Family Force 5

I can understand that there is good music from these bands, but people who really don't care about any of this music are going to complain (because we are a society of complainers) that they weren't able to ride Rockit while listening to Kanye.

Either way, for all of US complaining, we know about the secret tracks, so just pick one of those and you'll be good.

I could care less IMHO, but they will get complaints from other people, ESPECIALLY if these are the ONLY tracks available, which I doubt.

I'm a fan of Switchfoot and Relient K, especially this song, and I'm not a very religious person at all.

People will always be offended... no matter how much you try not to.

As you said, the tweet said "they'll be reprogramming Rip Ride Rockit with Christian music". It doesn't say they're removing tracks anywhere in there. Secondly, they're going to get complaints about stuff no matter what they do. Guests will complain about having to wait in a hour long line at this point in time. The bottom line is, you're at the park during a Christian music centered event. Odds are, you're going to end up hearing some Christian music there whether you like it or not.

Not a fan of Creed I'm guessing huh?

I liked their earlier work, not any of the newer stuff.

I'm all for adding some more metal to Rockit, Metallica, Pantera, Korn, bands like that would be excellent. Heck AC/DC would be EPIC on Rockit.

I am hoping for a Punk/Ska Genre. That would be so awesome. Jamming to some Reel Big Fish on RockIt or some Sex Pistols.

Two Black Eyed Peas songs and a Fergie song is a bit ridiculous.

Now that you mention it, Mighty Mighty Bosstones would be a helluva fun song on rockit, same thing with some Smash Mouth too.
