New Water Park coming to Universal Orlando?

A 10,000 year old cave painting that I have seen indicates 2017. Could it have been moved up, certainly. I have no knowledge of this happening however.

I've only ever heard 2017 with respect to the water park as well.

BTW, I know that I hinted at this once upon a time, but not sure I said it full out. The number that you folks such as Parkscope need to keep an eye out for is 533. It should be showing up sometime in the next 6-8 months. Perhaps sooner.

No, sorry. Just that we've known the project number and been on the look out for permits for a few months now.

There's so more activity happening on this site. Trucks are offloading equipment. Not sure what it's for but it's definitely not for Saphire Falls

Beat me too it. Most of that lot looks cleared and so much happening not related to Sapphire it seems. it appears as "Something is in the works" south of Cabana Bay

The construction office trailer on the site has dozens of cars in the parking lot and there are workers in earth moving equipment right now. Seems like activity on the site is about to pick up!

I am slightly surprised. Hmm.

Another thought is to keep an eye out for where they are moving earth... right next to Cabana or deep in the middle of the land. This could be for construction of the additional two towers.

There haven't been any permits filed for Sapphire Bay before this week either, FWIW, and land clearing and prep started there a while ago.

Weeeell... what does "clearing" mean? The last pictures that I saw it was just flat. The actual project will require some very interesting grading, berms and retaining walls. I suppose that prior to laying pipe is when we will see actual permits as that must happen before everything else.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they're starting now. If what you guys are saying about it opening 2017 is true, then it needs to start soon. Even if it's a whatever park, it's still an entire new park that needs to meet Universal's standards as far as theming goes and Teebin has hinted at this huge Volcanic structure. I feel like it will probably take at least 2 years and even if they finish the park sometime around late 2016, Early 2017, no one opens a water park in the Fall/Winter anyway.

The earliest they would open it is for Spring Break 2017.
