Something big escaped me yesterday from the Direct. The fact that we’re getting a remaster of Luigi’s Mansion Dark Moon on Switch means Nintendo is more than likely planning on doing this with more 3DS games. This could probably even go back to the original DS. I know we’ve had Wii U ports come over that were adapted to no longer use two screens but this feels different. Personally I’m hoping for the 3DS remakes of Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask to make the jump.

What would you guys like to see?

That's what I thought when Miitopia got a Switch port, but that's the only one we've gotten up until now. Hopefully we see them more frequently going forward. Personally I'd really like to see Kirby Triple Deluxe and Kirby Planet Robobot on Switch. They are among the best Kirby games and it would be great to see them on a console.

The only Kirby game I’ve played and finished is Amazing Mirror and that was only because I got it free with the 3DS ambassador program lol

Forgotten Land looked interesting and I enjoyed the demo but I’ve still yet to buy it.

Amazing Mirror is a fairly good game, but I find it to be one of the weaker Kirby games overall. If you like linear 3D platformers similar to Mario 3D World, Forgotten Land is up there as one of the best.

I’m starting to think we will actually be getting the Switch 2 next year even with that Peach game coming. The first article seems to confirm some form of backwards compatibility so using that in the marketing would definitely help with that transition.

The Switch is the third best selling system ever right now.....I think they would have been crazy to just throw that away and try to start all over again

Xbox head just said they lost the most important generation and Sony got a lot of people hooked on the PS4 and keeping all your games still on the PS5 had to make millions have no intent of switching systems

So hopefully it happens....and I know they wont but if the Switch 2 sells that well, keep on going. Not saying Nintendo should not try things but I just don't want two systems again, it suckeeeed not having Pokemon/Fire Emblem on home consoles

There’s no way they go back to separating home and handheld. They finally found their blue ocean.

Agreeing with Mike S, The Steam Deck and Switch (Even if it's starting to show it's age) proves that you can effectively have high quality handheld console without compromising on developer quality or what developers wish to make.

The question is, how does Nvidia step up to have the console compete with the PS5 and Series X.

The current Switch had no trouble against the PS4 and XBone so a new console with a similar gap between it and the PS5/XSX shouldn’t be an issue. Maybe a bit more to make ports easier but consider the current Switch was able to get the two recent DOOM games, Witcher 3, and later this year we’ll see how the ports of Hogwarts Legacy and Arkham Knight will perform.

Don't know if they really need a device other than the Shield. GeForce Now is their stake in the ground and you can run that on just about anything now. I've been pretty impressed with the service but decided just yesterday to purchase a ROG Ally because my laptop is too old and doesn't want to boot.

The handheld full PC seems like a really cool option and knowing that if I really need horse power I can use the GeForce Now service after the fact just feels like the a good call.

I mean more in the terms of how would Nvidia step up their game for GPU's against that of the current gen. As @Mike S said of it being a middle-ground, but I think if they are to keep their momentum for the next lifecycle, that it needs to be on par with the PS5 proper and not lesser than that.

Activision-Blizzard CEO apparently says next Nintendo system close to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One power-wise

I know other handhelds have come out that can do this, but I’m still kind of floored that NINTENDO could be releasing a handheld on par with the PS4 only a little over a decade after it released. Sort of like the Switch being more powerful than a PS3 in that same timeframe. I’m now praying that Metroid Prime 4 has indeed moved to the next console and takes full advantage of the jump in power.

Also I think this pretty much confirms the successor is coming soon if Bobby seems to be able to openly talk about it. Maybe holiday next year.

PS4.....is fine but was really hoping for it to be as powerful as the PS4 Pro, mainly for third party games

We’ll see in the end but at least we now have this as a baseline.

Clarification:
“It’s worth noting that while Bobby Kotick has expectations for what the Nintendo Switch successor’s power will be, he admits that he does not have the specs.”

This will also be the first Mario game with who ever the new Mario Voice actor is...so interested to hear more of new Mario Voice

Also I'm sure other games have done it, but like that there are multiple Yoshi Colors.

From the first trailer it seems like Yoshi is actually playable in this game and not just a rideable mount.

Ohh nice, I think that is a first for a main stream Mario 2D game. I think he is Mario Run but this would be the first time he is playable then

Super Mario 64 DS.

But as far as non remake yes.

Edit: just noticed you specified 2D.

I’m dumb.
