That "guy" was Jon Landau... co-producer of Avatar with James Cameron. I sort of expect him to show up tonight at the parks presentation too (he was there yesterday).

That video really does give a lot of hints at what they are trying to "sell" to the public. Looks like there will be weird "alien" type food, and merchandise. The "night time nature walks" is another hint that Disney will be pushing Avatar at night to the public. It also emphasizes "family" , so I'm thinking the "canoe" ride will be rather tame, with not any giant drops or Rapids.

Interesting. It totally feels like a homage to Epcot to me in some way.

I completely missed the video earlier because I first only saw the blog link.

I admired Joe Rhode briefly 10 years ago until I heard him talking about various projects. In this video, he sounds like he was telling the story of Santa Claus to a bunch of 4 year olds.

That's Disney. Joe is a very talented creative force in the vain of Tony Baxter. PR is an uncomfortable part of his job.

This video was done in away that was supposed to be like a sales pitch. The "ACE Travel Group" is trying to attract people to come to Pandora. In most cases, i'd agree with you, but that video was meant to leave be cheesy. I mean, are we actually going to take Guest Testimonials from a place that doesn't exist yet for real?

I could do without it for sure, but I think there are some positive elements to it. I actually like the promotional signs they've made up for visiting Pandora. Hopefully the ACE story will stay in the background, but I have a feeling it will be very prominent in the "Flight of Passage" queue (similar to Star Tours).

I don't think the general public pays much attention to back stories. They're generally very minor or non existent issues. I don't think it will have any negligible negative effect on Pandora/Avatar.
