avatar prefab.jpg I noticed these in the plot above Kali. I wonder if they're prefab rockwork for avatar.

Its sad how much they try to sell the experience above the two rides. It's sad because that is exactly what animal kingdom is and why it's failing to the stressed out guests who want to tick off rides from a list and don't stop and watch the beauty of the park.
AK has the most shortest, disappointing rides at WDW. There is something very wrong if the queue is more impressive then the ride itself. But the park has stunning vista's and beautiful animal habitats (sure not right now because it looks like contructionwall park but eventually that will be done in a year or 10). But most guests still consider it a half day park. It baffles me that, while hearing the complaints, they still go the exact same route for this Avatar expansion.

Agreed.

The park is beautiful. Highly detailed, massive, and probably WDWs best when it comes to theming, but there is hardly any meat to this park. With Avatar we're getting two more needed rides, but the park needs about ten more to really make it a full day. I'm still shocked Disney hasn't put in a few smaller Fantasyland style dark rides. You've got properties like Jungle Book, Tarzan, and Lion King that would all make for great rides. And of all parks, this would be the perfect one to build a double decker carousel featuring all kinds of different animals! They could build it in the Oasis when you first come into the park, or down off the river behind the Tree of Life on the path between Africa and Asia.

That could be said about Diagon and Gringott's.

Meh, I love both the queue and the ride for Gringotts. The queue is just beautifully detailed and the ride itself is pretty fun and unique.

kinda funny if you think about it the animal kingdom park was suppose to have more rides at opening but the current Disney only thinks with their wallet so a lot of the rides and lands got shot down before the park even opened

I get what you mean an it's ridiculous that DAK is approaching 20 years and will have less than 10 rides even after Avatar.

However, the 1998 Disney is not the "current Disney". There was different people in place in pretty much every position of high authority at that time versus now. That was Eisner's Disney. We're currently under Iger's Disney, with Tom Staggs waiting in the wings.

Iger has been CEO for 9 years. That is over 1/2 of DAK's existence.

Completely fair and Avatar is the first real addition to the park (outside of Finding Nemo: The Musical) since his tenure began.

My point was just that you can't compare 1998 Disney to 2015 Disney.

Eisner was holding Iger's leash for the longest time. It's really hard to tell the difference.

The DaMouse guy just posted a whole preview of many aspects of Pandora. Including this nice little concept piece that describes the paths and buildings very nicely, although he has only posted half of it. The close up shots really give the land justice by showing how at ground level the forest is a lot less green and more colorful.

Some little interesting tidbits first:
1. The luminescent paths are still only in small areas like nature paths and not on the main walkways. A good comparison would be that they are the wand shop of Pandora, small walk through attractions.
2. The forest as your walking through the land will have tribal Na'vi arrangements forming a background to the illuminating forest.
3. The land will have some visual remnants from the events in the movies. Most notably the RDA base but also pieces of aircraft crashed in the forest.

(I don't now how to make this smaller so if an admin could edit it to be smaller that would be great)

I am worried about all of the plastic glow things looking dusty and dirty over time... kind of like ET. The river ride moreso because it will never see any rain.

Richard Dean Anderson had a base there? Will there be a Stargate so I can go somewhere, anywhere else?

I think he means literally catch fire. Like, SDMT and then Frozen.

So clearly, every ride ever...
