From the official 'Visit Pandora' twitter on some tips, "Remember to breathe underneath a floating mountain. It’s easy to forget how when awestruck"

This is so corny and bad social media engagement/marketing. Ughh
They should really be ashamed of themselves. It would have been worth it to spend some of that billion plus on some better marketing than a community college intern.

I believe they made an excuse for that awhile back for the purposes of the land but I forgot what it was. It was typical Disney "story".

Yeah, based on visitpandora.com, seems like Pandora was terraformed to allow humans to be able to breathe.

EDIT - Which not thinking about it after reading more... kinda contradicts the whole story. From the site:

The Pandora Conservation Initiative is focused on habitat restoration and doing all that it can to protect this natural world. Fitsimti keeps meticulous journals about the planet, and as a conservation expert, she spends a lot of her time studying the natural world of Pandora and how all living things are connected.

So they wanna conserve the planet by terraforming to allow humans to inhabit?

Throwing this one out there, but if you change the atmosphere it might kill ALL LIFE FORMS ON the planet (slight CTX reference there). Just saying.

Imagineering and James Cameron really didn't think this shiz through. Poking so many holes.

Well there has to be some disbelief. It's a cop out (like "Muggles can now tour Hogwarts!") but at least they addressed it. But the whole "We're trying to conserve the planet after terraforming it" is a bit much. Either way, it realistically means nothing. Just us Theme Park nerds discussing the inconsequential.

A core theme of Potter was the struggle between Pure Blood and Mudblood/Muggleborns/Muggles.

Should the Wizards rule of the lesser muggles, should they coexist, should the wizards remain hidden and secretive.

Dumbledore makes a show of it by lowering the charms on Hogsmeade and Hogwarts to give an open-house to let muggles visit the Wizarding World. Remember that for a long time Dumbledore believed in superiority of wizards, but then when Grindlewald went too far he realized the error of his ways.

It's political, "There is a time in everyone's life when they must choose between what is right and what is easy."

But.. Pandora.. yeah, dead weresmurfs if they changed the chemical composition of the air.

MOD EDIT - I'm going to go ahead and take out your comparisons since it was a bit much for a comparison......

Anywho... back to Pandora..

Seems cast will be playing two major roles, ACE tour guides and naturalists.

Also, the 2009 film is referred to as a "documentary."

And maingates are blocked out starting May 20th with the opening weekend blocked out to all employee and comp tickets.

It seems as if this land won't have any "kinetic energy" in it, and is more relaxed.

For example, Cars Land has radiator springs and the various flat rides that add to the land being alive; Diagon has the dragon and all the different wand effects. I don't see the energy in this land, other than a waterfall?

When you walk over certain areas the ground will have lighting effects that interact with you. Plants and scenery will change colors as you wave your hands/walk by. Some of these things will technically probably work in the day, but the land will certainly come alive at night for sure.

Simple stuff like this:

And then complicated stuff Disney patented years ago, and hopefully actually work, to make plants interact with people nearby.
