With James Cameron involved I doubt Flight of Passage will feel too similar to Soarin'. The guy pushes for the absolute best. I could easily see it being one of the absolute best 3D rides built to date. Not to mention the surprising enthusiasm @Disneyhead has for the project.

For SWL the screen use on the Battle ride has been compared to Shanghai's Pirates and that WDI is also throwing every trick they've got at it. The Falcon just kind of confuses me but doesn't sound like anything else I've ridden.

I think @Disneyhead is the reason I'm more pumped for Avatar than I was.

This is a nice filler attraction.

By the time I go next spring it'll be 2 years since I've been, and Hulk, Kong, Fallon and VB is a bloomin great lineup of new experiences, and I'm excited for them all. I'm hoping a few smaller upgrades are announced before I go aswell....maybe a good refurb early 2017 for the mummy or something.

I'd argue Uni have added more of interest to me between 2015-2017 than Disney did between my last gap 2005-2015.

There seems to be this "OH YEAH?! WELL DISNEY SUCKS MORE!!" mentality on these forums. As if pointing out the downfalls of Universal Orlando must mean I'm some Disney fanboy. I'll say this, Disney makes just as much lame trash as Universal, but at the end of the day at least with Disney I can still go on attractions like Haunted Mansion, Pirates, Space Mountain, Big Thunder, Splash Mountain and so on. Universal destroyed all of their classic rides and their history to find places to sell more 2,000 calorie butter beer.

I think we should just immerse ourselves in the ride and just have fun, screens or not.
It's an amusement park, so just be amused.

Local APs are somewhat jaded. I used to go to a park for lunch and a ride and just walk around, and then I would go home. I have lost perspective on the tourism thing.

I go almost every year for HHN and just a regular day, and I live only two hours away.
I still feel the need to ride everything when I go, and I could probably close my eyes and walk around the park knowing where I am.
Point is, we are spoiled and passionate. I understand screens are getting pesky, but we need to just "loosen up". It's supposed to be fun. So I think we all need to just enjoy it.

We're moving down in a bit over two years. If this happens to me, please kick me in the mush.

You misunderstood me... it is WONDERFUL having the parks to go to any day of the week. Locals just don't feel the need to do everything in one or two visits. It's fun to get sick of work from home and think, I am going to AK for lunch. The rides were almost secondary for me. I really enjoy watching other people have fun.

Having an annual pass means you don't have to worry about getting your money's worth out of a trip to the parks. You can just sit back, relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

I dig that. I just don't want to become one of the jaded-whiner types just because I'm local.

My GF and I were just discussing the trip to Universal in a few weeks over a few glasses of wine. . Anyway, she said she can't wait until Fallon opens next year. That comment was a complete surprise to me. I hadn't heard of hardly anyone looking forward to it. I just may have to cut down on her wine consumption. ;)

Then you can place me in the same position as your wife as I'm excited to see what Fallon does as an attraction.

Yeah, the more I look at it the more I think it may well be cool for a D ticket. My expectations are not as high as they would be for an E ticket attraction, like F&F. Despicable Me is just a D ticket and I enjoy it immensely. This may end up a little better if it has a well written entertaining script. That may end up being the key.

Yeah, from my perspective, it should be entertaining at least once. Twister wasn't entertaining for me even once. It was a dusty old miniature mess. And I really dislike miniatures. I wanna be slammed with the full kahuna.

Suck up.

I just enjoy the fact that UNI is making efforts to ensure that there are a multitude of offerings for everyone of all types. A mix of simulators and actual motion rides gives us all something to do. Plus, spending some time in air conditioning on a hot Florida afternoon is worth quite a bit.

Kennywood has an Ice Age short movie with the squirrel. The marquee mentions the name of the movie and "13 Minutes of Free Air Conditioning".
