That appears to be the case.

Bodes well for the rumored 2/12 date at least

Considering this was originally planned to be about 24 minutes in length, this is kind of what I expected. You can really tell the sections where stuff was cut. It isn't bad by any scale though.

Considering the CM previews had people saying the show was too slow, I'd much rather a good 15 minute show than a bad 24 minute show.

The one thing of substance that got cut from the show that would make it better is the floating lanterns. All lanterns are made and have been tested, but they haven't been able to get them to work like they would want them too yet. They ARE still working on them though.

I've only watched a few little bits of the show, but I think it looks classy and totally fits in with the themes and atmosphere of Animal Kingdom. Is it an all-caps SPECTACULAR? No, so if people go into it wanting that, I can see where there would be some disappointment. I think it appears to be a very fine show, all things considered.

So no matter what, this will be at it's core for time being, an INCOMPLETE show?

Technically, yes.

However the lanterns don't add all that much to the show overall, so this isn't much different from what will be the final product.

This is THE show that would benefit the most from the inclusion of drones. Simply place a barge next to the Flame Tree Barbecue shoreline for the drones to be stationed and have them fly up and around during the show. All guest pathways stay open and we get a much better show.

Wasn't the Tree of Life originally supposed to have its leaves light up in sync to the show?

It's OK... just nothing was very compelling or gripping. But I did watch it on YouTube so I can't judge entirely.

Either way, for a show delayed a year to fix issues - not impressed.

About what I'm expecting. The show seems fitting for the park though.

I wouldn't hold anything story-wise against the delay though... if anything, the show would've been longer and even more drawn out had it been able to open on time from all accounts.

I for one would have just gone with World Of Color: Animal Version...

But the soundtrack is cool.
I don't get the story nor the need of the actors on boats.

I'll wait to watch it in person to judge but 15 minutes? Yikes.

Pretty much what Brian said, for a show that has experienced delay after delay, the product shown here is not worth it.

For me there's brief flashes of neat moments, but there's no wow moment. No moment which gives me chills or makes me tear up. I'm waiting for a cool moment to happen but it's just not happening, which is dissapointing since this show should be right up my alley.

I'm not sure adding a bunch of floating lanterns would help this, this feels pretty flawed at the core. As for music it's alright, nothing too stand outish...though I did notice a odd thing. Near the end of the show where there's a northern lights kind of moment, the music sounded like a lesser/knock off of the Transformation song from Brother Bear. Honestly they should've just used that song instead since it would've sounded much better! (Heck they could've used that song to finish the show off, would've given a much stronger musical punch.)

But yeah, I'm pretty dissapointed. While I know there's different groups/companies involved, if Tokyo DisneySea can do both day and nighttime water pagents which are great, there's really no excuse for DAK to get something like this. An' with what's presented, it's not surprising there's been word Rhode is on the way out.

You could tell Rhode ain't feeling it when he can't even describe what ever Tower of Terror (DCA) is turning to. "Power plant, steampunk something"

Maybe it's the same for rivers of light?
"Some type of world of color, spectromagic parade thing except we removed all the cool parts"

So not worth the time and money investment that has gone into it. I get the fact they didn't want to just copy World of Color and make it only animals but World of Color is still the only nighttime Disney show that gets me emotional.

They needed a show to top all shows to keep the crowds in the park after dark. They needed something with some amazing "wow" moments. Something that makes you feel something. This had none of that. The animal floats come out at the start and end of the show and that's all you see of them. Most of the show is 4 flower barges with 5 fountain jets each leaving a TON of dead space. The people on the boats and the boats in general really serve no point other than to block the view of what few fountains are going off during portions of the show. Having to sit on the benches for 45-60 minutes to see a 15 minute show with no big moment means this is going to be Jungle Book all over. People see it once and then never again.

It also lacks Disney elements. You would think they would have learned by now that if a show doesn't have an "anchor" into SOMETHING Disney, people don't like it. This is why a World of Color style show would have been better. They could have done sections of the show themed to different Disney films. That Lion King section and the Colors of the Wind song give me goose bumps every time I see World of Color and they are both tied into the ideas and fabric of the park. They could have created a Jungle Book, Bug's Life, Dinosaur, and an Avatar section and had a great 30 minute show with many "WOW" moments.

Hopefully they do something to make this show more interesting. If not, this is going to be one expensive and disappointing flop. The ONLY thing this show has going for it is some of the music.
