Me either, after viewing Orlando Seekers last video of a week or so ago and then these pictures, does highlight just how quickly they are putting things together.

As many people are saying, the rate of construction is already high and quickly rising. Most of the exterior work to be done is not so much actual construction as it is landscaping; before landscaping it can look like a massive construction site (as it does now) but with some plants, mulch and a few days work it's a drastic change. Just think of all those reality home-makeover shows where they do all the landscalping/final touches on the last day before the reveal.

Also, the convention center is clearly not going to be ready for opening day (I believe), but I also believe the intention may not have been there to open at the same time.

I would imagine the Convention Center won't be needed until the actual booking dates for meetings at that facility. Anyone know the date when they're accepting Convention/Meetings for the new area?

There's a couple of other OU posters coming in to Sapphire that same week. We need to PM each other a week or two before and meet up for a few drinks and fun discussion.

Day and Night. Only thing hindering a proper opening is a tropical cyclone.

Yeah and one is a-brewing. I schedule a trip a month ago and have found out that the first day may be a washout due to a tropical storm. Stupid Colin.

Those get tough. I was playing hit & miss with that hurricane off the Carolina coast last October. I left 12 hours early trying to outrun it and lucked out. I got through on I95 one hour before they closed it for a week and a half. Two weeks in Orlando and we had a 3 hour heavy storm midway through the vacation and that was it. Sunshine rest of the trip.

You can just as easily get washed ou by one of our daily thunderstorms. It's just apart of planning. Much lie the constant tourist who come to Orlando in May-October and as "Is it always this hot?" I Reply "Yes Drink Water and eat liite".. If you plan to the weather accordingly, you'll always be a step ahead in Orlando.

I went to Naples, FL once in July. The afternoon storms were funny in that they were predictable. I don't know how people could go to FL in the summer and not expect heat. That's like going to Alaska in the winter and being surprised that it is chilly. My first trip to IOA came in '99 and I arrived just after a minor hurricane. So, I expect to deal with weather on these trips. Plus, I might want to come back after the rainy season and see how Sapphire Falls is. Although, I have promised myself that Portofino Bay comes first.

Booked three nights in the Sapphire suite for Halloween horror nights. It's crazy that it was cheaper than a standard room at Hard Rock.

Well Hard Rock also was the only one without AP during that time. Staying at portofino last year, we used the EP maybe twice during the day of HH.
