He is an individual that shouldn't be put down in bad name, even though he does have a way with Screenz; he has redefined the technique many times. Plus, he has done practical attractions too so that's another thing to say.

Well that's one way to not take a side.

Ironically, I prefer Gringotts

That said: I still want this to be relatively screen-free with no 3D glasses. And the high box office has me confident that we will still get that vision.

If everyone saw what FJ was in its original concepts before cost saving screens were introduced I think many would be singing a very different tune..

Also FWIW I love FJ, just remember that not everyone makes attractions better once they get "involved"

Personally curious, what was the reason for FJ getting budget cuts? Because last I saw, you originally had an article on what Orlando would of had for FJ and what Japan and Hollywood could've gotten for their iterations of FJ. Although, I think that was pulled..

Because last I remember, originally it was planned that there would of been a lot more physical effects to balance the Media-Based effects; yes?

Well remember when FJ was being designed Universal didn't have Potter or Comcast money. People don't realize how cheaply FJ was done compared to other attractions at the time. But then again they had to cut corners in order to create that spectacular land it in.

I remember reading something very in depth of what we were supposed to get but I can't find it. Even then I'm very happy with what we have.

Yeah, it was being designed during "The Dark Years" but I would think there was more reasons to why there we're cuts besides that..and making a spectacularly looking land.

You have to wonder if all the pre-work for SLOP includes R&D, lining up contractors, and site prep. That way when the call is made it will be a Transformers like buildout..

That being said I still think 2018 is the best possible year for SLOP if it does indeed happen.

I don't believe I have told you people this before, but the project number for SLOP Orlando is 188.

Now you have a better idea why I am baffled that I don't know anything about the USH project. RoK diverted attentions.

I'm just happy to hear that the planning is far enough along that it actually has a project number.

Just for clarity, a project number is assigned when it is only scratches on a napkin. Almost before that even. It is not a sign of being far along at all. I have had that number for nearly a year.

Good to know. However, I will be more than happy to buy them some more napkins if it will help speed things along.:D

An outstanding opening weekend. 103 million. Highest opening for a non-sequel animated movie ever. Lets's get this going in Orlando, pronto.

Just saw the movie. Much more enjoyable for me than Despicable Me 2. I can't wait for the ride.

SLoP is not in wide overseas release as covered by Box Office Mojo:

Internationally, Secret Life of Pets continued its slow roll out as it is only playing in nine territories so far with an international total of $42.6 million. The film will release in 57 more territories over the next three months, including Argentina, Chile and Colombia on July 21 followed by France on July 27, Germany (July 28), Mexico (July 29) and China on August 2.

That's earlier than expected. So this could end up being a simultaneous coastal release a la Simpsons?
