Well the new CEO is VERY hands on. He's already been to every park (I got a glimpse of him), and has extremely strong opinions for better or worse. So if he decides he wants the tower open, it's opening.

I can't wait to hear his thoughts on each park

I hope it opens as well.

Waiting for the responses where we learn they don't make parts anymore for the elevator or that it has been deemed unsafe, etc etc.

I"d love to see the tower open again, but I fear it's so old and outdated (in terms of both elevator equipment and possible needed safety upgrades), it may be beyond saving. Didn't someone else a number of pages back say they had heard SFMM was looking into ways it could be removed?

Either way, another attraction up there and some TLC to the area would be welcome. It had/has some good bones thematically speaking, but is currently looking pretty rotted out.

I'd be curious to see what attraction they could fit up there. There's not a lot of space, but it would be a welcome addition. Aside from somehow fitting in a Screaming Swing tower up there (which would admittedly be an amazing location for one, already being on the top of a hill), I can't even begin to speculate what else could even go up there.

Even assuming removing Sky Tower is an option, the potential for what could go there is heavily limited. I almost kind of wish if they'd get rid of the Sky Tower, they'd replace it with some kind of new Observation tower like the ones at SeaWorld. Doubtful it may be, a calming ride overlooking the LA County skyline could do really well amidst Ninja, Tatsu, and Superman.

I dont also wanna get people's hopes up but I did hear that upkeep and general improvement of turning this into a theme park is a priority. Furthermore, Gold Rusher being one of the park's historic attractions that the park wants to focus on up keeping... so I'm thinking maybe Sky Tower could get something similar considering its status as a park icon?

Gold Rusher getting a refresh would be an incredibly welcome change. Especially if they handle it like how Kings Island did for their mine train.

The Sky Tower is the parks largest icon outside of maybe Goliath and Superman. Going in and giving it the love it deserves, would be a major win given the other observation towers in the SF chain, have been updated and restored in one way or another.

That’s the problem. Someone always says they “heard something” but can never back it up with facts. Then everyone believes it later on down the line. Truth is we don’t know why the tower is closed.

Hopefully those improvements call for adding shady trees and planters, to known hot spots like The Underground, Full Throttle plaza, Justice League plaza, and the new DC universe area. All areas which they recently re-did and removed them all.

*Insert meme of Hawkeye from Endgame saying "Don't give me hope" here*

But that's interesting that the park's priorities are changing. Does this have anything to do with the management shakeup going on at SF?

I'm slightly encouraged that someone on twitter or IG (can't remember which) posted pics of The Flash (himalaya) cars being stored under Scream. With the station demoed, if the ride were being demoed, you'd think the cars would already be trashed. The fact they're saved implies it could be either relocated, or getting a new station built. Not getting my hopes up too high just in case, but SFMM has to know they need all the flat rides they can get, and a himalaya is a good teen/family intermediate ride a wide range of ages can enjoy.

Looks like vertical construction will actually start in the next day or two. I've never seen this much action around the park simultaneously. From Tatsu to the new bathrooms to the DC area. The park is also preparing a new season pass promo area.

^I was initially thinking it'd be scrapped, but the fact that the cars appear to be saved is giving me some hope.

While I do feel SFMM needs all the flat rides it can get, I can totally understand if they scrapped it due to its age... it's got to be 40-50 years old. But they could replace it with a newer model of the same ride... the average park goer probably wouldn't notice the difference, especially if it gets themed.

I've been hearing rumors of the next major attraction to leave SFMM could possible be scream, with Riddler's being touted as the park's flourless coaster instead...

I can't see a reason to get rid of one floorless and make the standup a floorless in its place. I COULD see Scream leaving and getting dropped into another Six Flags park though...

I am more than fine with this. Any word on a possible replacement for Scream?

Scream before Viper. Interesting decision as both have low popularity among park guests. They would have to replace it something good or else the park will lose its 20 coasters title.

It's crazy Scream has never been popular. I remember going on that ride when it first opened and to this day, I don't think it's ever taken me more than 10 minutes to get on it. It's easily one of my favorites in the park, but I understand its removal...

God...no

Scream to me is wayyy nicer to ride then Riddler. This would suck and no clue how Viper is still a thing over scream.
