The new colors are definitely a choice lol. However, I always hated the orange. I'd be happy if orange is never again used on a southern California coaster.

After Tatsu, please ban the color orange Six Flags.

So is Goliath going to be joining Montezooma's Revenge for a year long refurb? That's the rumor going around the park. Finally fixing that horrible midcourse stop? I certainly hope so!

Is it really that bad? I've never been on it (proximity reason or lack thereof). The videos looked really good but I've heard different opinions.

Besides the drop and final helix, it’s kinda a waste of space that could be used for a better coaster of its type. There’s also this random brake run that stops the train for like half a minute that’s just really weird.

If they got rid of Goliath but used the existing support structure to build a better hyper coaster, I wouldn't mind.

I mean, I like it. The first half is really fun. After the mid-course break run, it gets very dull.

Unfortunately this would be virtually impossible.

I agree. I want Goliath gone for the sake of a better hyper coaster. The re-paint makes me feel like it's sticking around another half decade or so. Sigh.

If this is a project that essentially reduces the trim, repaints the track to that Sangria/Dirty Yellow, and (and this is a stretch but lemme dream) replacing the trains to be that of Steel Dragon's current, this will be a large win that should help the park intensely.

I wonder if it's going to be rethemed as Dr. Diabolicals. Makes sense given the similar paints.

Agreed. Because of the unique way Goliath was squeezed into that spot, and how much money was invested into it, it would be like CP removing Millennium Force. It just ain’t happening.

Just come to terms SFMM fans, we got a so so hyper and we have to live with it lol.

We’ll know how extensive this rehab is based on whether they decide to market its reopening or not.

I thought the ride broke down the first time i rode it, that’s how glaring it is. I haven't gotten a ride where it goes through it like a normal brake run, it just stalls there waiting.

Yes, but not for 30 seconds.

It was a hyperbole. I don’t know when saying “for like” meant exact accuracy. Semantics aside, it’s still a noticeably long stop that’s just odd imo.

It’s definitely not the worst coaster in the world, but I personally would never wait in line for it. I’m good just ignoring it there’s a bunch of other really quality coasters anyway.

I watched a video from late last year last night (you know, that is enough for an opinion) and that pause on the breaks is weird. If I hadn't read your post, I would have thought that it had broken down as well. It did spark a memory that the helix was causing a lot of grey-outs due to its intensity. Maybe part of this supposed downtime will be to take the helix out or to find a way to make it less intense.

By the way, the track looks nasty in that video. It looks like a mixture of rust and vomit.

That’s years of oil from the brakes, which will likely be switched to magnetic fins. As for the complete stop, years ago a woman died of an aneurysm on the ride. It was slowed after that incident.

Personally I have to do that clenching technique to not gray out so hard on the helix. My first time it took me by surprise and it messed with me for almost the whole day (i was also probably dehydrated).

Welp, now the park is denying any Goliath closure at all, not even for a repaint. Apparently they want all their coasters open to claim 20 coasters once Wonder Woman joins the mix.

I heard something different, but perhaps the Goliath thing is further down the line.

That's weird. A coaster doesn't count when it is closed? So i guess with Batman closed right now, MM only has 18 coasters. Guess that blue and black thing in the back of DC is just a mirage.

So Six Flags Great Adventure just announced they are adding a single rider line to Jersey Devil. Do we think WW:FOC will now get one when it opens?
