Dang even just Frozen Bananas. Lame and prepackaged compared to what could be done but those are good and would make sense.

I just hope this progress continues and we don't have an Arrested Development situation like some theme park projects.

The "main" one but they have 2 other boys and would have ZERO issue canning him.

Jack is a character that anyone can be made to look like.

Looks like shrunken head from night bus to me...

That doesn't help me though. They are usually open late for peak times but not non peak times. If they would add an hour or two in October (or Sept. to help people going then, like Scott), than that would work. That's when I hope it happens.

Agreed, the whole month of May other than the holiday weekend the latest it is open is 8 PM. They should really have Saturdays always at 10 PM. It would make sense so people can see the park at night and that is normally a busy day because of the locals. I understand staying open later costs staff money, but we are talking 1 day a week. No reason they can't keep it open late one day a week. If they have a special event that day, move it to Friday or Sunday.

I broke down and bought the Kong fridge magnet and shot glass this past weekend. Kids wanted a Kong stuffed animal but told them we would wait till the ride opens to see what else they put out :D

Are you letting your kids ride this? I am 50/50 on my daughter.

My mother always used rides as a way to prove there's a reason I was the child and she was the parents

I'd get all the facts on said attraction, she'd provide her opinion and then the choice was totally mine.

And because of that - I held the responsibility. I was able to make decisions and deal w the Repercussions. The aftermath was so satisfying and rewarding.

Funny you should ask :lmao:Apparently im the parent to a flock of chickens who won't ride anything . So even if I let them ride they would take one look at the entrance and say hell no. For some reason my oldest fluctuates, last month she rode Spidey and a few other rides but this past weekend all she would go on is Kang spinner, Hogwarts Express, Suess trolley and merry go round. And if by chance they grew the courage to go through the line and onto the ride I know they would be hiding their heads in the sides of my wife and I o_O

How old where you at the point? I've got an almost 6 yr old, 5 yr old and 3 yr old (all girls). We let our oldest go on Dinosaur at AK when she was 4, her head was buried the whole ride lol. We leave it up to them if they want to ride or not for the most part. Kong I would like to experience first so I can see just how scary it really is for them

If I was tall enough to ride was the only stipulation. And I remember it started young. I was a member of ACE by the time I was 8 years old. I was present opening day of every major ride at SFOG.

And it was always her recommendation vs mine. And she never let people around her shame her, which is HARD and I commend her for that.

I remember the only ride she forced me on was the Viper. I was sobbing uncontrollable as they strapped me in.

I rode it 11 times after that.

TL;DR - mother knows best.

Yeah I let my 5 year old decide too, only I have the opposite issue, she is never a chicken. She happily walked into ToT even though I explained it to her and gave her options until we loaded into the ride to leave. Nope, she was going to ride it. She got freaked out on it and wouldn't go back on it. About 3 months later she decided to do it again. So she obviously didn't learn her lesson. So leaving it up to her might be a mistake lol

I am thinking I want to do Kong first, but I will be with her I think when Softs will be going on. Since it will just be me, I can't leave her in child swap by herself while I go on it. So she may ask to go on it. I think I should say no. But if I do the give her the option I am 90% sure she will say yes, let's go on. She LOVES bugs, so telling her there will be large, creepy bugs will just make her want to go on it more lol

She will hold on to us tightly during scary stuff, but she always wants to go back on it. Like Transformers she will hold on to me tightly, but she about had a fit coming out of the park on Sunday because we didn't get a chance to ride transformers. She calmed down pretty quickly and we moved on. But that tells you how much she will continue to go on stuff that does scare her.

I don't really understand your issue then....?

Unless she ruins your day after her decision due to said fits.
My mom didn't play that game.

Oh hell no. If she starts to have a fit we leave. She knows it and doesn't push her limits. This fit happened while leaving and lasted a total of 30 seconds because I think she realized she wasn't going to get what she wanted and there was no reason to risk losing something else.

My issue is to whether to let her make the decision which I am sure will be a yes or if I should know better and not let her on it because it could give her nightmares. She has never had a nightmare from a movie or ride before. But not sure if Kong would push her over the edge.

Im just worried that if we pushed them to go on something and they didn't enjoy it that it would have some bad negative emotional/psychological effect later on down the road

My 3 year old is like that but only because she has no idea what to expect lol. My 2 oldest know better and say no before we even ask

Unless you happen to be there the first day of softs there is bound to be someone here who rides it first and can give some kind of heads up to you.

Also my dad took me on Alien Encounter when I was four. Prolly a mix of him wanting to do it and not really knowing that it would be that bad. I came out crying and it freaked my mom out as she waited with my younger brother. Anyways I turned out fine and look back on that memory fondly.
