So once they go to 4 trucks it'll be around 1900 per hour. That will be darn good.

Are they ever going to run five trucks? Or is the fifth truck just a backup?

Maybe Teebin knows. Seems to me that five trucks would be a tight fit on time.

I think it is supposed to be 4 with 1 in rehab at all times. Since they only have 4 they are still keeping on in maintenence so they can work on them. But 9 min cycle is what I had pegged for the ride.

I timed 2:15 (for about 15 minutes) a few weeks ago which would be 1920 so they can definitely do it.

Months ago when they were vehicle testing I timed it. Vehicles passed every two to three minutes.

Consider yourself fortunate. When we go in the spring and fall it closes at 6:00, 7;00 and 8:00 at the latest. I've only seen about an hour or two of IOA in the dark all the times I've been there, and I go for three to four weeks a year. It's a shame they close so early. The park is absolutely beautiful in the evening. With all these new hotels, maybe they'll start extending the hours. Or, at the very least, alternate it with the Studios for the later hours. The Studios get a lot of late hours, probably because of the lagoon show. And, it too, is beautiful under the lights.

I liked that IOA was open late with the studios for our July visit. Was just natural for us to gravitate towards IOA and less crowds at night when the masses were gathered in the studios for the night show.

No way they run 5 all together.

Anyone get a good shot of the RVs at night with the flood lights on yet?

That picture above is such a tease!

Kong is back up with a 105 min wait. Workers on the roof for some reason. Single rider at the witch room.

There are some things that I just don't ask about because logic dictates. I personally believe that four is the max this thing can handle.

The trucks are capable of running on a 9 minute cycle as shown by 3 min dispatches with 3 trucks. The 360 scene from timing the video and using context from actually riding it could reset on a 2 min cycle but that would literally be a truck pulling in as one pulls out. I think a 2:15 is a more reasonable dispatch cadence and with 4 trucks that makes a 9 min cycle for each truck. With 5 its a 10 min cycle with a 2 min dispatch (which might be impossible) or a 11:15 cycle time with a 2:15 dispatch time. But going over a 10 min cycle with 5 vehicles would cause a backup and even a 10 min cycle would require almost perfectly timed dispatches continuously to avoid having a backup of vehicles.

3 vehicles on 9 min cycle: 1440
4 vehicles on 9 min cycle: 1920
5 vehicles on 10 min cycle: 2160
If 5 is possible the downside of backups is not worth the minimal gain in hourly cap.

Side note:
Running 4 with outside assuming a 2:15 dispatch/9 min cycle the ride ops basically have a 90 second cushion past the 2:15 ideal dispatch time before a truck would get backed up coming out of the kong scene.
Running 4 with bypass assuming a 2:15 dispatch/9 min cycle the ride ops basically have a 30 second cushion
Running 3 with bypass assuming a 3:00 dispatch/9 min cycle the ride ops basically have a 120 second cushion
I'm curious if they run 4 when bypassing and just make sure to keep takt time, which shouldn't be hard since there are no restraints, or pull off a vehicle to limit having a possible backup.

Its all just my educated guess coupled with the fact that you usually store an extra vehicle in maintenance. The only thing that sucks is that since each vehicle is unique, depending on how they rotate the vehicles someone could end up missing one the the drivers if that was their goal.
