Where does this info come from? It is hard to believe such high level information regarding a personal opinion could leak out.

It is all over the Disney fan sites. Some even claiming that JL has threatened to quit if it comes to DHS (this I believe is untrue and nothing but internet bluster). What I am hearing is that Lasseter doesn't want it coming to DHS for 2 major reasons, 1. Afraid it would cannibalize DCA's numbers. Given that RSR was designed to "save" DCA, cannibalizing it's numbers would be counterproductive to it's intended goal. 2. TDO doesn't want "Carsland" just RSR. And Lasseter doesn't want to provide half an experience.

And Dan Cockrell, Pres. Epcot, is afraid that Epcot will become nothing but a dining/shopping "park" if a more popular "Test Track" opens over at DHS. Face it, right now Epcot only has 2 headliner attractions (Soarin' and Test Track). And Futureworld is looking anything but "Futuristic".

Epcot already is a shopping/dining district. It's funny how they are worried about what's already happened. Like I said in the other thread. Expand World Showcase and tear down the failiing futureworld attractions. Make it the new global downtown disney.

Rhino is right, Epcot is already just a shopping/dining district. And if Danny boy is so afraid of Epcot becoming just that then ADD RIDES/FIX RIDES THAT NEED IT!!! Oh no, instead he only wants to add more and more dining. Yea, so it won't be RSR in DHS that gives Epcot that distinction. It is the park VP who is to blame. TDO really is mentally challenged, aren't they?

Well they have to start the revamp by giving money to something that will work. Guest loved test track in the past and making it better they will love it again bringing more people into the park for dinning and shopping. Once that hype wears off they can either bring in a new country or a new attraction that would help with future world. And both will probably happen it's just the order that they happen in.

I've often said that the "night time pass" for Epcot should really just be the cost of the day pass. Think of how popular Epcot would be, if they lowered the price and doubled the amount of countries/dining? They could keep a few rides, and maybe add rides that added to the global theme. Like say a London Eye.

I dont think I'd ever go back to Epcot again unless it had a park hopper. Even the Food and Wine fest is way too expensive when you have to pay for entry into the park along with the cost of food/wine samples. Not to mention the classes. Who can afford that? The Food Network hosts a Food and Wine fest in Miami every year that blows Disney out of the water...in terms of actual wine, food, and lectures/seminars.

Look for late November. I'd assume Disney would like to have it open for the holiday rush.

Here's what I know (that I've teased before).

Due to an expanding project scope (mainly due to the structural problems reported before) the ride has fallen behind schedule. It is still progressing and they are doing show scene installation. Disney's goal is to have the pre show and possibly the post show open by November, at least. This will be them being open by 'late fall'. The ride I have not heard a solid time frame on, all I know is it could be as late at spring. Remember, this is Test Track, they're going to play this one safe.

Well, not much has happened to the exterior since the last update. I believe that the saw horse in the center has been moved a few feet to the left.

It would seem as though Disney is very intent on keeping it simply for shade purposes.

It has to do with making sure cast members are protected, I think.

It's a BS excuse. Smaller, less ugly things can do that job.

I realize that. We all know Disney's motto for FW is do as little as possible unless an outside source for cash is paying for it. I guess even GM didn't wan't it down seeing as their the ones steering the whole refurbishment.
