Seems like The Conjuring chatter has waned significantly over the past month or so. Not sure if people have just learned to shut up about or it turned out to be a tease again. If it's the latter, I wonder if Uni will try to secure a different "big ticket" IP along the magnitude of a Scream, IT, Amityville, etc? Or, with the loss of some revenue due to the virus, would this give them the opportunity to really scale back the high-end IP $$'s and focus more on originals and Uni properties?

The virus is unlikely to have any impact on the lineup. The contracts should have gotten locked up weeks ago, and this shutdown isn’t enough cause to pull out.

If the line up ends up having those its not bad this year but it's sorta ehh pretty much and yeah the houses for this year have to already locked in for this year and now it's just waiting for the next step.

Hence my disagreement with using all the classic monsters last year.

My problem is not with the Universal Monsters being used for last year, I was fine with the house, but this year's line seems a bit eh, good but eh, Monsters wouldn't have saved this year, last year it being used was sorta overshadowed by GB and ST, this year the same thing would have happened with Beetlejuice or any other high up ip, Universal Monsters was not bad but some of the ips seem very interesting, some seem possible and others idk, hopefully the build up and theme for this year can help gather these ips together and have em work out well.

With Beetlejuice rumored as a zone I feel like it prob won’t be a house also not sure about conjuring as late but I think the rest is pretty much guaranteed.

IF it ends happening this way and the scare zone is loved then I can see it easily getting the trick or treatment :agree:

100% agree and I think that’s why they aren’t using a house spot for it this year!

Where do you guys think they would put Beetlejuice if it becomes a zone? It wouldn't be New York and Hollywood, it's probably going to be put in Central Park like Trick R Treat.

Also Conjuring has been getting me thinking back and forth that they would have the marketing on both The Nun & Annabelle, those are the only two I see being used in the marketing, Conjuring 1 and 2 maybe just being used with the last section for Conjuring III since the film comes out Opening Night of HHN.

I would be ALL FOR Central Park as a spot for a Beetlejuice zone. Once again, something new for that area.

However, Legacy said the rumor "shifted" to a house right after he posted the clue.

Seeing how Zombieland was last year as a zone, honestly I'd rather have Beetlejuice a house because it could be good as a zone or something completely different whereas as a house it should be different from how GB felt, a little bit like Killer Klowns but then again, taken the little humor factor out then just make it a bit scary and it should be fine. Hopefully it would stay true to Tim Burton's vision as well as a house. I'm not so worried about the scareactors but how the effects will be used, seeing how they did the big Mindflayer last year, really wants me to see them tempt making the big Sandworm and of course the Beetlesnake in the house lol.

Beetlejuice feels like a perfect fit for Shrek theatre.

At first I thought Conjuring + Hill House would be weird in the same event but the more I think about it the more I realize they’re totally different. I forgot who said it but I agree that Conjuring would likely emphasize The Nun + Annabelle, while Hill House would likely emphasize the grandiose sets.

I was thinking soundstage, but I guess there wouldn’t be a ton of big set pieces

Yeah and see how they used Klownzilla in KKFOS, I think we can tell how they'll either pull off Beetlesnake or the Sandworm or maybe even both.

I feel if Haunting of Hill House does happen, I don't see the Conjuring happening. Both are ghosts in a serious tone, so I don't see that happening in the same year. It's not like last year which had Ghostbusters, a horror comedy, with Graveyard Games which was more serious horror.

Also, while I notice some people mentioning IT...I really don't see that happening for one reason or another. The biggest one is the rumor of Jack being the face of marketing. If that ends up true, there's no way they'd have Jack and Pennywise in the same year, plain and simple.

Honestly all this talk about Jack, if he becomes the icon, that's great but I still say it kills me that any other icon cannot get their due, but that's my opinion. As for Conjuring this a big opportunity for them to try and bring it this year, if it not, I'm not worried about it, as for IT, honestly King's properties are a hot topic and I think after Shining, nothing can really touched of his and be brought to the event, goes back to HIVE and seeing how that house was inspired by Salem's Lot, and as close as we would ever get to Salem's Lot at HHN in a form of an original house.

For me there was a possible chance for the Conjuring, especially since HHN did attempt to have it before, and lost it for outside reasons at the time and not burned bridges. Plus with Horror Made Here being in limbo, there was always a chance of a opening depending how it swung. All in all, it was a better chance than IT, which'll always have the Steven King hurdle.

Either way, I feel Haunting of Hill House is more likely. An if that's the case, that has the spot of a serious ghost house. So with the event always wanting to keep things varied with the houses, Conjuring is out the window. However Beetlejuice could still be on the table for it being a ghost house in a horror comedy tone. (An quite frankly everything is severely different than Hill House.)
