Other than it was terrible, I felt the same way. HM was cool, but I just like Universal's offerings more.

Though I don't totally hate Disney.

Which is why no one wants Universal to build a ride with 1971 technology later molested with a film character. Rather, to take the spirit and execution behind the original attraction that, I don't know, basically carried the concept of the theme park as it exists today. There's absolutely nothing wrong with a dark ride that doesn't require nets to keep things from flying out of it (Cat in the Hat). I don't know why that's such a scary concept. There's other ways to stimulate the senses than making your stomach drop or head spin.

Are we really saying that POTC is a bad ride? Really?

I agree somewhat, I just believe that it should be kept in Kidszone or Seuss unless it is something like what Antarctica is doing or what Shanghai is doing. No Omni's or Busbars anywhere else in the parks.

P.S Speaking of Shanghai, Anyone else getting a tad scared of the Bird Flu outbreak?

Oceaneering is really pushing Universal on there new trackless darkride. I've been told Universal Execs and Creative have already gotten a demo of the RV in a secret "local" location and are awaiting the opening of Antarctica to see its execution in a dark ride setting. I truly believe we will see this tech utilized at Universal Orlando within 3-4 years.

Perfect ride type for KidZone! Thrilling, but tame, and can have a fully immersive environment. Great for the whole family! Hope this happens

Who built the ride system for Transformers and Spiderman? Are they the same company that built the ride system for Curse of DarKastle at Busch Gardens Williamsburg? I guess I thought that all of those rides were from Oceaneering. I know Oceaneering is building the Antarctica ride system for SeaWorld Orlando.

Thanks. So what's the benefit of a trackless version of their Spiderman/Transformers ride system? Alternate courses and endings? It ALMOST seems like to add such a ride to UOR would be excessive overlap, but I'm very curious to see what Antarctica is like this when I head down this fall. Not gonna lie, that whole dark ride they've built has me crazy intrigued.

it wouldn't be like Spiderman/Transformers. That kind of ride system depends on a track. Look up YouTube videos of Pooh's Hunny Hunt to get something of an idea about what 'trackless dark rides' entail. It's really just a relatively stable vehicle gliding on a floor without guide rails to give the illusion of randomness. A better comparison than Spiderman would be Cat in the Hat or Men In Black--imagine them without busbars.

The ride vehicle will be more advanced than PHH. It has motion based capabilities that could simiulate some of the movements created by rides like Spider-Man or Transformers. You can see what i'm talking about in this video:

I know this may sounds odd, but what about woody woodpecker? He has always belonged in toon lagoon. Since they need a dry ride over there, why not re-locate the coaster over there if they finally decide to do nick?

I think the only issue is location, where would you put it?

There is a good spot on the right of DDRF. I have thought about a couple other locations that could also work but since that land is too small for another island, why not?

Aren't Woody's Nuthouse Coaster and Flight of the Hippogriff pretty much the EXACT SAME COASTER? Why put 2 of the same rides in one park? Hell, why put 2 of the same rides in one RESORT?

And yet the same ride. That makes about as much sense as Uni building a new B&M Inverted coaster in the JP area themed to a dinosaur adventure. Same ride, different layouts. Totally acceptable!

I don't pretend to know anything or have any real insider access, but (my) common sense would dictate that if USF removed Woody's coaster, they'd simply sell it or ship it to USH...heck, maybe even overseas. My gut tells me this will probably end up staying in USF, but time will tell!

I too think its pointless to move it to IOA since its basically the same kind of ride experience as Flight of the Hippogriff. I say keep it where it is and retheme it if need be.

They can give Woody his own dark ride or something else suitable in Toon Lagoon instead of another coaster.
