I think it's different enough from Willy Wonka that they don't need to worry and I'd consider this free publicity.

I don't think this has anything to do with Willy Wonka. It sounds very similar to the case Disney had with Wide World of Sports.

Well, that kind of answers our questions of why "Emporium" popped up as a name late in the ball game.

It's such an original idea, they HAD to have got the idea from some guy in Ohio...

Let him sue, it sucks for him if his side of the story is true but he should've been smart and had the proper protections in place for Universal not to do this. Working in the ad tech world, we don't go into ANY meetings for our new tech (especially with investors) without having them sign NDA's/NC's first. Tough business lesson.

I'm pretty sure just having a idea for a chocolate factory restaurant isn't a protected concept. It's more so if he had certain designs, characters, stories, etc that actually down in the deep details which would be the reason he could then sue and based on what he said, there is nothing but him being bitter than he lost out on making money and licensing fee he could have imposed.

It would explain why the sign wasn't ready.

GENIUS!

Even before this lawsuit, I can't believe we didn't put 2 n 2 together about the name change affecting the sign. Or maybe we did and I didn't catch it.. Either way well done

Not totally sold yet....

The food presentation leaves little to be desired, it looks big and brash and some dishes look like it was thrown on the plate, I need to see some care and pride from the chefs.

Saying that though some of the menu is really exciting, quite brave and really interesting, mixing modern for the foodies and classics for those who like to keep it simple. The desserts will be a huge pull as will the shakes, the pictures show these are almost a meal in themselves.

The interior and staff uniforms are great and building itself will act as a fantastic weenie as you walk down Citiwalk, an amazing upgrade on NBA and a sure fire win for Uni.

I know it's early days and I'm sure they will iron out the kinks during this trial period but as it stands it doesn't have me running to the door but chances are i'll try it. I can see me eating a main course elsewhere then using the emporium for desserts a little later on.

This is probably more or less how it will shake down. People will eat elsewhere, then grab dessert here. Still a win all around.

It sounds as if they are expecting this too based on their pricing of modest entree prices with very expensive desserts.
They will be more than happy to accommodate the family that is willing to pay $52 for 4 shakes.

The food looks really great and the prices seem fairly reasonable. If it meets my expectations based on what I've seen this could become my favorite CityWalk restaurant!

Aren't the steaks pretty much the same price at that new place in Disney Springs?

While the steak prices do appear rather steep when compared to the rest of the entree options at Toothsome, the price points aren't that off from other premium restaurants at the resort.....

-The 10 oz. Filet Mignon is $44.99 at other CityWalk restaurant NBC Sports Grill & Brew.

-The Ribeye is $48 at other CityWalk restaurant Emeril's Orlando.

-The 9 oz. Beef Tenderloin is $46 at Bice Ristorante at the Portofino Bay Hotel.

-The 9 oz. Filet Mignon is $47 at The Palm at the Hard Rock Hotel. Which is isn't even the most expensive steak they serve, with the highest priced dish being a 36 oz. "Prime Double Cut New York Strip" for $99.50, meant to be shareable with 2 or 3 people.

The Boathouse at Disney Springs has similar pricing for an 8 oz. Filet Mignon at $39. But they have other steak entrees that go as high as $62.

It is interesting the difference. The average entrees are around $15 - $20. So you can go here and have a nice expensive steak dinner or just a regular casual meal. I kind of like that you have the option of either of those.

I actually wonder how many people travelling to Universal from a different country will opt for the more expensive items on their last day to use up any extra dollars.

Also, how much do we know about the whole candy store aspect of this? Have there been more pictures?
