the similarites to Spiderman have been known for a long time, as this was basically the other parks answer to Spiderman. Since it's not in the "same" park, I don't see it as that big of a deal. Overall, it still looks more intesnse then Spiderman is.
Also the majority of park guests will not pick up on similarities, as they probably havent ridden Spiderman over 50 times like most of the people on this message board. So I doubt we will hear many complaints from the general public.

Im glad everyone is digging it. I think I am still going to wait until Phase II opens to make the trip back to UO, but this is definitely tempting.

So many complainers. I mean honestly, regardless of how good it is, it is much better then what used to be there before. So lets just be happy they finally did something about that SS44 and made it into an attraction!

no doubt this is much better then the Hercules show which was there before. You also have to give them a huge props for building this in basically a year. Pretty incredible.

I sort of look at this as similar to the Star Tours/Body Wars situation back in the day. 2 very similar ride systems and type of action story. But 2 different parks. No problem. At least more so than PotC and Small World. While similar ride systems, the type of story being told is drastically different. More like Small World and El Rio del Tempo. Similar ride system, similar type story. Different park. No problem.

Exactly this. I view the Transformers and Spider-Man ride system to be extremely similar in both parks, but completely different experiences on their own as well. This can be compared to how Disney has omnimover rides at Magic Kingdom and Epcot. Same ride system, but independent experiences on both Haunted Mansion and Spaceship Earth.

I've been on Spider-Man well over 200 times and yeah I noticed the similarities when I rode this at USH last year. I don't care...it's the Transformers and being a fan of them since 1984..yes I'm old I love this attraction. It's funny how all the pixie dust snorters on a certain site were calling this ride "redundant, stupid and a waste of space" How many different spinners are in the MK alone? This is a great ride that will continue to eat crowds long after DA opens. The same way Spider-Man and The Hulk do even 3 years after FJ has opened. It's a very fun ride with tons of action and a much smoother ride than Spider-Man is. YouTube videos truly do this no justice. Go on the ride and you will see...Universal has definently stepped their game way up. How else can you explain the TMs that have gone on this 20+ times or the people who rode multiple times last night? :thumbs:

Count me in with those who don't mind the similar ride system. Especially because I think Spider-Man's ride system kicks ass. Plus different theme, and different park, and according to the majority of the reports it's a way different experience that merits many repeat rides. I think this is a big winner for USF! I'm really tempted to make a trip this weekend...

It's still pretty early :shrug: If I were you I'd go to SeaWorld, get a few rides on Manta and Kraken, check out Antarctica, and then return to USF. That's what I usually do
