Yeah, they're really going to town on the soundstage, might be fully down by next week. They've also added new barricades a few feet in front of the walls on the Shrek side, and there's alot of security permanently posted. So, no more close over/under the wall shots.

I know the increased security has nothing to do with this, but every time barriers are added around ongoing construction I can't help but picture construction workers or officials looking at the cluster of forum dudes taking crazy-angled shots in mild terror and muttering "They're doing it again." I just like to think we confuse the poor powers-that-be from time to time, if only for my own amusement.

I enjoy the demolition shots featuring the Jaws poster.

if your camera waterproof? cause I could not find a single hour to drive out there and get photos due to the constant rain from Debbie... (and I JUST got a new camera too)

when will universal learn... if there is a construction wall we will be there to photograph it... and if they try to stop us some people know the right helicopter companies to hire to get a good overview ;)

It's my cellphone actually. The majority of the shots today were taken under a roof, the ones I posted two days back got my phone soaked. Damn good Ballistic case though, so no damage.

Hmmm.... I am still not convinced they have any intention of tearing the building down. Sure, there are a few nicks and scratches but...

:look:

On Saturday, the lagoon corner was marked "Don't Touch" and they, er...touched it. I suspect the Monsters corner will be the last to go because of its proximity to monsters. Need to be careful there.

I think they green lighted this because they have a hold on what is going in amity.
I think they misestimated the time for permits mainly because they are changing a water feature and need federal permit to change a wetland area (IE the waterfront in amity)
So whatever they are putting in here is going to be premade ride system/show that can be done quickly

It does if they change the outline of the area sticking into the lagoon

Isn't it a glorified retention pond? I guess with the loss of the Jaws water they need to make up the volume somewhere?

I agree with JS. I doubt there are any delays at all except the expected dewatering. This ain't like putting a pier into the ocean or ripping one out. I feel confident Uni has the water management under control and the state has no serious issues. If the feds got involved in every artificial water management project in central Florida... they wouldn't have time for the rest of the country.

They greenlit this project because they can, because they got the go ahead to spend the money. If I was one of those workers pulling the building down, as soon as the contract is over, I would apply at Nassal as a temporary concrete sculptor.
