Upon entering, the vehicle either faces left or right (depending on which lift it is sent to.) The screen is curved, and surrounds the lift platform, stretching from the bottom of the first floor to the top of the second floor. The projector is mounted on the lift platform, and therefore moves with the car. There is no live set in the shaft.

Thanks for the info Spidey. Thats an awesome design!

Found this picture from http://thestudiotour.com.
"To achieve this there are at least two points in the ride where your vehicle movement changes, according to which elevator is free next. There are four elevators in total, in two positions.

This photo (below) shows one of the track switch positions, just before an elevator."

Thanks. I'm glad to see there are some actual set pieces and not all movie screens.

Starting to get pretty excited for this after watching the POV's. The only thing that is bothering me is the voice for the EVAC vehicle... it just seems so ridiculously out of place. I'm not sure what it is but I just don't get it at ALL... Anyone else?

Not only that but I believe a real set roof collapses at one point.

Seeing as how you are supposedly riding with him I don't think it is out of place..I still think it is rather awkward without any soundtrack of any kind..that may contribute..
If you look closely in the POVs there are actually a bunch of set pieces in front of most of the screens...

Similar to the scene in Spiderman, or bigger?

So a question for all my fellow engineers or anyone really...

High end dark rides all use a similar style of track as seen above in Paul's picture. A quick FAQ first... In the center there is the buss bar which, contrary to many descriptions I've seen, only carries electricity and no data. It is isolated from the surroundings and contacts the vehicle through spring mounted brushes. The green/turquoise boxes are position sensors which register to the central computer/PLC cabinets which then checks and adjusts the vehicle motion timing through a wireless system. The vehicle motions are stored in the individual vehicle memory.

My questions are about traction and roll control in the case of Transformers and especially Forbidden journey since they use essentially the same motion base. How are the vehicles kept on the same path steering wise when they are throwing around massive weight at large accelerations? I see some sort of black "guides" for lack of a better word on each side of the track which I have never understood the purpose for. Unless the base is of such a greater mass than the vehicle itself there needs to be some way to account for the vehicle deflecting slightly from it's intended path. Either the "guides" serve this purpose in some form or function that I do not understand or there are sensors embedded in the concrete to constantly adjust steering if the vehicle rolls a slight amount which is unsafe and would never pass TUV inspection anyways.

Let me put it this way in vehicle dynamics terms, assuming these vehicles have no suspension, how are they restricted from overloading their static roll center or simply lifting one side of the vehicle during roll? What constraints exist?

Also, HPatFJ it is a bit different... but still rollover?

Is it Shia Lebeouf's voice? I haven't found a copy with fantastic sound but that's who it sounds like, so that would make it make sense.

It's not Shia. It's "EVAC" which is the TF we're riding in. His voice is a little too vanilla for the situation, but it's not terrible.

The no score situation is much more interesting, but I think it adds to the "battle scenario".
