Rode HRRR today and got a great view at the size of this project. I've met my HRRR ride quotia for the next quarter.

I suppose I'm the only person in the world who likes this ride, but wishes it was at Six Flags instead. It doesn't fit into the theming of USF.

I believe it was a necessary addition at the time...the studios has always been thought of as the 'boring' park ever since IOA opened...I just wish RRR would have come in a different form, one with thematics and a non-intrusive design

I feel the same way about it, however looking at the logistics of it, I don't believe there was anywhere else they could have put it. I feel like their hand was forced, but I wish they didn't ruin New York with it.

I just got back from a visit to Universal Studios and yes you can buy the HHN22 lanyards. They are only availiable for purchase at the ticket booths until Tuesday when they go on sale inside the park and are only $5 each they are very well priced. I posted a few pics I took on my Facebook account. If you would like to add me feel free. Look under Jack Tamagni. Or try my email jtamagni76.

Orlando Theme Park News is speculating that based on current placement of the new steel beams, the entrance would be on the corner facing New York and the lagoon.

One of our readers, Gian Luca (who we thank really a lot!) sent us this rendering that shows exactly where the entrance of the building will be (the area where the car and the truck are located):

Of course, this is all speculation at this point, but we are quite sure that this will be the location of the entrance to ride, based on what we have seen in the park.

^ Either choice will be good and reasonable. It is all other directions that would seem misguided. The stepped lagoon area might be a great place for mega queue overflow if needed.

Like I stated on the OTPN post, I REALLY hope that they don't go with the mural design here. Please Uni Creative, make this one look more like Singapore's version. Or maybe even top that one's design!

Its still not as intrusive as Hollywood Dream in Osaka IMO

Both are pretty thematically intrusive and cause a visual migraine for me, but at least Dream has a more muted palette and a well-themed entrance.

In regards to the show building for Transformers, Hollywood's park is clearly a movie studio. The attractions' sound stages are visibly marked just as they are throughout the studio in a drab grey. Therefore, a mural was enough to bring a draw to the area. We expected their Jurassic Park's theming quality to be replicated, but instead got a horrible-yet-eye-catching mural which everyone in Hollywood barely cares about. They're used to the sound stages everywhere and pops of theming that lead them around. And not to be uppity about this, but we're used to being immersed. We're used to the 360 degree experience. That is why London is going to be so well-themed. That is why all the Islands are virtually entirely themed.

Bottom line, don't expect a mural. Expect facades facing New York perhaps (and hopefully), a real NEST facility facade facing the lagoon perhaps matching the New York theming in some way or another, and an entrance with more grandeur.

Felipe, I'm absolutely with you on that. I would be seiously sad if they decided to go with the exterior design used at Universal Studios Hollywood.

That being said, unfortunately it looks like we may not (as always, this is pure speculation) see a highly-themed building for a few reasons. First of all, the building will be clearly visible from three sides, meaning that Universal would have to theme all of them (and that's a lot of money). Also, all the major buildings at Universal Studios Florida have a Soundstage look (Shrek, Despicable Me, E.T. Adventure, Twister) or they are only partially themed (the Mummy), therefore one would expect something like that to happen.

Again, I would be absolutely unhappy to see an un-themed building, especially if it houses such an E-ticket ride. We will see.

Is that an 'IMO' or have the plans/elevations been sent to you?

I've been told by my source that it should be a themed exterior.

That is good to know. I really wish it is themed to the NEST facility which would blend in with the New York theming.

Orlando Theme Park News has a great look at the progress of the vertical construction.

I was also told it would be a "themed exterior". Now if I only knew what theme :shifty:
