I dont mind it, but one thing I didnt understand is why didnt they dig deeper into the ground, so it wasn't so obstructive and large? I mean clearly there is nothing to do now about it, but Im just making a statement. Doesn't the one in Hollywood have a basement portion?

Might be a tad harsh but most people don't reply to kindness Let me correct that....most people who aren't impoverished don't respond to kindness. My.comments can be taken as snarky or rude or whatever that's everyones choice. I just don't get the whole "fanboy" mentality. I understand you're upset that the facade looks like this but in all.honesty it's only a theme park. No ones lives are any different because of what happens there. Now...anyways....awesome pics I look forward to getting some good shots myself tomorrow. Once you ride TF you're not even really going to care what the facade looks like.

So, I'm thinking, could it be that maybe the design they're going for is a warehouse look, with a very sci-fi design that draws inspiration from circuit boards? So all the piping, boxy protrusions, and markings would be like whatever the connectors and things are in circuit boards (Sorry, I'm not very knowledgeable of electronic parts and stuff). So a design drawing inspiration from, or loosely based on something like this:

(Notice the bold, italics to imply not exactly like this... definitely less busy, but generally those shapes.)

That's what it looks like to me. Maybe I'm way off, but whether I am correct or not, there's still many more details and layers still to come. I'm optimistic that a final result will be good. Although I have given up hope on my ideal exterior of a stone/brick NY-style building, I still believe the warehouse look fits, and I can't wait to see the finished product.

It sounds like it's just me, but this is actually exactly what I was expecting. The only thing I thought might be different is the color, which I figured would be slightly more military.

But what else would you do with a big box building visible from all four sides?

I think it's supposed to blend in with the buildings around it, rather than look like this huge cool thing. I mean everything else doesn't look outstanding why should this new building be different is probably what they were going for.
