For the sake of @belloq87's original intent of this thread, I don't think it's a discussion worth having here. He didn't make this a catch-all hot-take thread. They are both different theme parks built at different times, with different agendas and goals.

So we're moving on!

Time for a hot take thread? lol

I am curious to see how things are handled in the upcoming years. With the inevitable closing of Springfield/Simpsons, I wonder if they would close that area in phases.

I brought it up to showcase how awful USF is in it's current state aesthetically (personally) and the level of investment it would need. Similar to DCA's $1B overhaul.

I say rip the band-aid and do it all together. You can close Simpsons, F&F, Rockit at the same time and still have decent capacity elsewhere at the park. Pair it with smaller improvements like refurbishing (getting rid of Tom Cruise Mummy) Horror Makeup, new Villain-Con missions, new Fallon theme, etc.

USF's biggest strong suit is that it has a lot of attraction & entertainment capacity. Unlike DAK, it can handle long-term closures.

There's so much that needs to be done at the Studio's park attraction wise, that it's going to take a long time. A number of weak new attractions, and some attractions that are feeling very outdated, have resulted in a difficult situation. Business/financial realities are only going to allow for a slow attraction replacement. But, Universal, in the meantime can play to the park's strength. Diagon is the most impressive land in any theme park. New York is such a realistic back lot type of area that it's an attraction unto itself. Hollywood is close behind. Street entertainment is excellent. The parade and night show (when it runs, lottery like) are very good to excellent. And, the attendance drivers....HHN/Holidays/Mardi Gras are among the best anywhere. So while there's attraction weaknesses, there's plusses elsewhere. If Universal can concentrate, and improve, the strengths, and perhaps add a summer festival, they can tread water like Epcot has. The new attractions will come, but that's going to be a long slow pace because economic realities rule.

Then say that instead of making a "hot take" that no one will argue.

A coaster replacing HRRR on the level of Velocicoaster and Stardust Racers, a dark ride replacing Supercharged, and Pokémon full land by 2030 will do absolute wonders for this park. I think that’s a realistic outcome, as well.

I didn't say that on this forum. I said that on discord cause its more informal over there and chats are far quicker over there. You have to go straight to the point.

it’s okay for someone to have the same take on multiple websites. that isn’t trolling. it’s using the internet.

One more controversial point.... USF is uglier than DCA 1.0 aesthetically. Not talking attractions, but DCA had more interesting visuals than USF does I think.

DCA had Grizzly River, Golden State, Paradise Pier... and the entrance sucked but that at least had some kinetic energy with the sun and fountain.
USF has Diagon & Hollywood... that's it.

I mean I can't deny that it had more interesting visuals. We might have different definitions of interesting though.

They can't add good rides to Studios... then it will be busier and I like it quiet for my leisurely strolls and Minion Tot breaks.

As the resident DCA 1.0 defender here, I'll conceed that DCA has higher highs and lower lows.

Dude, purity testing a person's online presence across multiple channels is not the flex you think it is, log off.

EDIT: (in before the "yet you yourself participate in online arguments with denizens of the Internet, curious" response).

I'd say it hasn't been the same since they got rid of the Korean Beef :( but i still love the carne asada.

(And I need at least 1 more Chicken and Waffle sandwich, 2 more buzz colas and another Mt Swartzwelder Apple drink)

imo every Studios park that isn’t USH is a very flawed concept, and any move away from it is for the better

Can they just add a JAWS shark to the Lagoon, preferably near a bridge to pop up every so often & scare the tourists?

Studios hasn't been the same in years. Even the seasonal events make it difficult to "want to visit" after years of living in Orlando

Maybe we should move the DCA 1.0 discussion over to the Epic Universe section of the forum. DCA was the last brand new domestic theme park to open from the big 2 until Epic.

OK, hahaha, sorry. I'll shut up now.

Behond, the beauty and splendor of Disney's California Adventure in 2001 - a park some on this site claims looks better than USF.
