Doesn't hurt, but the moment The Rock turns to the tram, grins and winks, you know what kind of ride you're on.

There's one character I was really hoping they'd include from Fantastic Beasts, and that was Dumbledore. He's one of the biggest characters in the Potter universe, and completely under represented in the Universal Wizarding World lands.

They could make a show which starts with the older / present day Dumbledore. He regales the 'students' (audience) with a story from long ago... Casts a spell, and *poof*, we flash back to the 20s with young Dumbledore played by Jude Law. We see Dumbledore in his prime, in a show full of action and of course magic. Wand battling with practical effects, screens, and stunt actors.

The attraction design could be a sit down theater like Bourne, or a walk through like Poseidon's Fury. Or heck, the puzzle theater design we've yet to see used.

The story itself wouldn't have to involve Grindelwald, as Dumbledore is sure to have many more stories beyond what's told in Fantastic Beasts.

Whether they do this concept (or something similar) at USF or EU wouldn't bother me either way. Since the audience is taken back in time through time travel, they could also be brought to anywhere else on earth. So even if the attraction is 'in London,' the time travel story could take place in America or Paris, for example.

I'd like to see a "Secret Life of Pets: Of the Leash, on the Stage" ride. A mesh up between SLoP and Sing.
Hear me out. You start the story as pup or kitten being ready to get adopted following the Hollywood ride story line.
After that we live a great life but the crew of Sing hears us singing alone after the end scene and they try to recruit us for a brand new show in town. It doesn't go without a hitch but in the end we ride on stage and can sing our hart out to a packed house and win the award.
This would double the size of the ride and double the merch to sell.

Im hopeful long term, and im talking way down the road post UEU phase 1/if simpsons comes up for renewal, when UOR can switch some UOR BOH over to the 110 acres they have at Epic they could use corner at MIB is kind of mostly junkyards to build something other than boxes. longterm they could balance out the make up of the park away from virtual rides

Pokémon or Trolls in Kidzone, Spongebob indoor land takes over Simpson’s and Expansion plot, eventually a new SLOP style dark ride replaces MIB. Great way to change up that area of the park when the time comes. A Trolls land could be very aesthically pleasing if the budget is decent

It's looking like opening day EU is going to have similarities to opening day DAK, for both good and bad reasons.

This is ridiculous. When DAK opened it had *four rides* including the terrible boat ride and the train to Rafiki’s planet watch. Even if two shows got cut from EU and the VR attraction got moved to USF, it would have 11 rides, more than DAK has *now*

Im not really seeing the connection. why don't you wait a few weeks until Universal Studios Beijing opens. that will be the best comparision as both it and EPIC (as it currently stands) will open Phase 1 with about 35-40 acres scope to add more in Phase 2

Entirely fair point. As someone pointed out, "Wizarding World level immersion" lands are expensive so it's somewhat unfair to expect 20+ rides upon opening, plus it gives the opportunity for expansion later.

Nah, the real concern I have is that a number of rides could potentially be too similar to existing rides. We'll see I guess.

I wouldn't worry too much about that

If you simplify MK down to its nuts and bolts it is similar to MIB, sure...but then you add everything back in and mix it together, it's an entirely new experience

Same with Monsters v. FJ...provided it's using Kuka tech

Unless something is literally a clone I'm not gonna be too concerned about things like them using the same ride system or being "kinda similar", especially if the rides manage to have practical effects and other factors to differentiate. Obviously the usual caveats apply, but not too worried about the park "not having much to do" on opening day/year either. It still sounds like its gonna be one of the bigger parks with more attractions at opening than most previous Orlando parks have had.

I just don’t want a SCOOP, that is all. Unless it is significantly practical set based.

Why the technology's great. I would love another experience. Disney World is opening 3 attactions within 18 months of eachother. All using the same exact ride vehicle. As long as the story is different, it's different.

The reason Transformers and Spider-Man are very similar is not just because they both use scoop. It's primarily because Transformers was likely going to replace Spider-Man in Orlando, but didn't go through. If Transformers had been designed from the ground up, but ended up using scoop vehicles, my guess is they'd be two very different rides.

My guess/hope is that Beijing's JW scoop ride will be different to Spider-Man and Transformers. This is largely because Transformers is literally in the same park (and not next door like USH/IOA). It's also largely because the ride was rumored to be designed with a different vehicle in mind, but changed down the line to scoop... So the rest of the ride could look and feel very different.

EDIT:
You know in hindsight I shouldn't have said "Orlando." I think it's just as likely they had Marvel Super Hero Island planned for other parks (Russia, Dubai, Beijing, and smaller versions for USH and Singapore) and replaced/retooled the idea due to the 2009 Disney acquisition of Marvel. But these are just theories/speculation based on the extreme similarities between MSHI and what we got with Transformers (in Beijing and elsewhere).

I mean, isn’t nearly every theme park attraction pretty similar to some other theme park attraction?

I think Studios and Islands together pre-2012 (RIP Jaws) were about as perfect in this regard as you could ask for.

Transformers, F&F, Gringott's, Fallon and to a lesser extent Kong are the rides I would single out a bit too similar to others for my tastes, all of which have been added since then.

I don’t understand what you’re getting at when it comes to EU.
