Wicked experiences coming to USH

This is one of those times where I am hoping and praying that they fast-track Wicked for USH. They have something genuinely special; and I want it expanded and fleshed out to be something big.

I would love for you to be right

But my gut is just telling me with how "safe" the current leadership is that it wont happen....they are not building more at USH right now because of the money going into Epic....along with the HHN in Vegas and Texas...along with the hotel

Which..this is why I'm against the hotel because its for sure taking money and resources from getting more attraction in USH in the next 5 years

After that? who knows they might give us some amazing E tickets but....thats all what if's.

But yeah, if they didn't want to strike when the Iron was hot after SNW killed it for 18 months..I just lack the faith they will do much now

I could see them rethemeing a street or restaurant and maybe adding something to the tram but besides that....I just feel like Wicked is soooo far away from USH in a major way...if ever because by the time they get to it they may want to focus on another IP.

I miss the old theme parks that were bold and started to build rides like Jurassic and the castle at Disneyland before the movies were out. Also USH doesn't even have a meet and greet, which really is not much of a cost.....while Disneyland updated the Deadpool show we are here at USH being like are we getting anything new in the next 12 months?
(I know its easy to crap on Disney but....we got 3 new shows this holiday season plus the new Santa area with new shows and meet and greets...I wish USH would invest more in Grinchmas but they have not in years)

Didn't someone mention that they'd already worked out a Wicked concept for IOA back in the day? Sure, they'd have to incorporate the film aesthetics, but I doubt they'd be starting from scratch with a hypothetical Wicked land.

There were rumblings (not sure how substantiated they were) about the abridged version of the musical, similar to what they did in Japan, coming to the Toon Lagoon amphitheater, with the surrounding midway games given light Oz theming.

As for the photo op outside the theater... that's on Universal Pictures, not the park's management. Those photo ops are paid for by the marketing department. You got the actual costumes inside the theater proper -- the exhibit in Orlando, as I understand it, got replicas.

For all the complaining about a lack of new attractions at the Hollywood park... are we forgetting the giant rollercoaster currently being built...?

One coaster 3 years after SNW

I know it will be a great coaster but to me compared to the E tickets epic is getting, it’s really not even something you can compare

You want a coaster go down the street to six flags they have like 20 plus coasters

The point is USH is 4 if not 5 years away from another E ticket because they are investing in the hotel and other resorts. Which great for those resorts but USH fans don’t even get a wicked meet and greet, haven’t gotten the new castle projection show and Grinchmas will be the same event as last year

The fact is that the management cleanly wasn’t impressed by the SNW numbers because other wise we’d have rumors of next year some big projects starting if we were getting something new before 2028 but looks like another gap between big attractions

Anyway, USH is my local park i'm close to to and do love it but wish we got more new....like Dreamworks theater being used for Bad Guys or Shrek next year to fill the gap year....or redoing a street for Wicked meet and greets/street show/a restaurant. But yeah its also sucks seeing Epic being this next gen park and having to wait 4+ years until we see any of that because F&F is another coaster and unless they surprise us will have little theming.
(also so people know Disney added 3 new hoilday shows this year and a new Santa area....I would loveeeee Grinchmas to evolve more but we still don't even have as many shows as we did pre pandemic)

I understand wanting new stuff to come to our favorite theme parks, but I think we risk appreciating why they’re already places we love to spend our time and money.

I mean I have very much lowered my expectations

I know Universal won't get bigger until 2030 but that's not excuse for not changing up things in the Dreamworks theaters, not adding more to grinchmas, not having the new castle show added to the parks, can we get lunar New years back?

It's just frustrating when USH and Japan grew while other parks struggled to get numbers up at other Universal parks....I would just like more investment into the park and everyone online complains about Disney but....they have things planned for Disneyland and they got 3 new shows this year and the santa area....and guess what the place is packed.

Investing in USH will keep profits up but they clearly want to spend just nothing at USH compared to what the park deserves they did something most businesses wanted which is grow after the pandemic....for 18 months USH killed it after SNW opened and the guests and fans get......one coaster 3 years after the last ride and then most likely 2 years of waiting for maybe another E ticket.

Its fine to be happy with what we have its amazing it makes as much as it does for mainly having cloned rides and lands that are normally kinda lesser then what is offered at other Universal Parks. but we all know USH could get more investment into entertainment and using what land we do have better.

Universal Studios Hollywood is not a locals park. It is a tourist park. You are treating it as a locals park, which it is not. Disneyland, which is a locals resort, is investing in its parks at about the same rate, give or take. (Yes, they made a bunch of splashy announcements, but they're many years away.)

Universal Studios Hollywood does run special events to appeal to locals -- Horror Nights, holidays, the 60th tram tour festivities, now FanFest, which is a USH exclusive! If you're expecting a new major attraction every year for this park, your expectations are just not realistic, sorry.
