Exactly! The more life like the better and this looks to be the most authentic thing Universal has ever done. I don't mind making sacrifices in space for overall realism and authenticity. And neither does Universal and there accountants. The formula has proven beyond successful at IOA so ths should not surprise anyone.

Quick fix: avoid the park on busy seasons. Besides, Hogwarts will still be attracting many guests.

This isn't a book, this isn't a studio in London, it's a theme park in central Florida. A popular one at that, and by the time this opens a very, very popular one. In no logical way does it make sense to have streets that much smaller than Phase 1.

-There's already overcrowding in the original expansion.
-It will reduce the capacity of the land which will already be small enough with a train filtering in people from another park. All these people need to go somewhere.
-It will turn off many guests from making the return visits that are profitable for Universal. Sure, they may brave the madness once to say they've done it. But it may very well be something that's not worth returning to for average guests.
-People won't want to venture in shops if they are unable to walk freely through the streets.

Thank goodness they are building Transformers. They also need to get going with that family ride for IoA. [HASHTAG]#Zoo[/HASHTAG]

And it's a good thing they can regulate the Diagon Alley entrance since its so small.

In all honesty, and this comes from experience, the average park guest who decides they won't come back due to over-crowding most likely would have never come back anyway, or would have waited five to ten years to return. I admit that I am totally new to the Theme Park world, so I still remember my train of thinking from being an average guest. Believe me, despite the unbearable conditions a day can induce, a general park guest is going to try to make the best of their day and get the best bang for their buck anyway. So the streets are small. There will be an entire park beyond Diagon Alley, including attractions like Despicable Me, Transformers (Oops, I mean... perma-haunt...), MIB, and Simpsons. Capacity may be a little short in the area, but like violarum stated, if you think it's that bad, go on the off-season. As a general park guest ten years ago, that is exactly what I used to do, and mind you, that was for the Disney Parks, which are always unbelievably busy, as any person here would know.

But people already waited over 8 hours just to walk around in there. They waited 60 minutes for Butterbeer. Queued 30 mins for a table at the Three Broomsticks. They waited 45 minutes to spend 500 dollars of there hard earned money on souvenirs. Then there is still that whole Ollivanders deal where people are still waiting 2 hours to see a 35 second show only to be let out to queue another 30 mins to spend 40 bones on a wand.

My point is that this isn't the first time guys. It's already proven itself a billion dollars over. Universal knows what there doing and I don't think any of us, including those who said the expansion wasn't coming in the first place, have any reason to argue that.

What you have listed above is Hogsmeade. That is what it is. However, I don't see Universal suffering a profit loss due to overcrowding. I do not see people not wanting to wait in line for a shop. All the negatives you posted above is why they are building this expansion. Universal's job is to deal with it in the best way that they can.

I'm not saying they can't do what they've already done. I understand the popularity is why it's being built. My point is, a matter of an extra 5'-10' in width won't stop die-hards from spending money hand over fist, and will make everything in the land run smoother. I don't see how you can argue that.

It even gets to a point where it's approximately 20some feet.

And there are plenty of branches on Diagon Alley for capacity. I think we need not fret over this.

(Ditto, Cecilia~)

I blame Teebin for not citing Phase 1 dimensions two pages ago :look:

It means less property for the shops. And JKR/WB is giving them a ton of latitude with 23 feet in the tight places. So... it will be a horrible place that I will visit once and see little of... and millions will follow my footsteps.

My point was that getting tighter than Phase 1 is dangerous. And they're not. In fact, they're building it larger by a few feet in tight places. Thanks to Violarum my point is rubbish.

No, your point is well justified in context. As a themepark, WW is a horror show of pedestrian movement in places. Scary even. But it's all bottom line here. Money.

I laughed at everyone when I was told that Coke products wouldn't be sold in Hogsmede, mainly because I thought it was business suicide, but man was I wrong. I think the same goes for the "width" of this street. I think it will be pretty small, if not the same size of what's currently in IOA.

Here is my idea how it will work. There will only be one entrance into Diagon, and one exit (not counting the HE). this will allow Universal to better control overflow, and will allow them to shut off the area if it gets too crowded. The main alley will be nothing but fake store fronts. The entrance to the bank will be right in the center. Instead of having a long outdoor queue, a big portion of the criss cross line will be inside (like Spiderman/Mummy). The entrance to Leaky will be behind the main alley (to the left), as will the entrance to Olivanders / or some other attraction?(to the right). This will help with lines, and keep the main alley from becomeing line central. The entrance/exit to Kings Cross will only be within the Alley. A small store or restroom will be next to Gringrotts along with temporary lockers. A butter beer cart will be closer to the exit of the alley, instead of right in the middle of the entrance.

just my ideas.

This page of the thread hurt my heart. Said it would be quite narrow spaces fourteen pages ago and people thought I was crazy. Then it gets more-or-less proven. That'll teach me to post without illustrations.
