I guess I'm just a cynic. Was never really all that big on IOA overall as compared to USF, although I've always loved Spidey and Hulk. There's no emotional connection for me to any of the sections, so therefore no biggie if anything goes. I've always admired the rich theming at IOA, but they certainly kept that with the existing WWoHP so I'm sure anything new would be up to the same standard.

I'd put money down that it wont be leaving. I think they are going to do a technology referb/upgrade on Poseidon in 2012

But that's different. Hogsmeade and Hogwarts are at least already near each other, Diagon Alley isn't even in the same country.

And Jurassic Park isn't adjacent to Hogwarts either :P

--- Update ---

I wish they'd make Malfoy Manor.

Okay, so I'm getting over the location thing (Aren't you guys proud of me?) but it still is the SAME thing as DA. A long street with shops, with a major attraction (Gringotts) at the end. I'm sorry, but I can't get excited over it.

MSHI = A long street with shops and 3 rides
TL = A long street with carnival games and 2 rides

And so on. The theming won't be identical, the shops will be different, and the rides are what will really separate the two.

I guess you're right, but they would be in the same land, and have the exact same layout. I just feel like Uni could pull off something better. Anyway, I'm just gonna shut about this now, maybe I am overreacting a little much. Or a lot much.

Alright, so why would that be a bad thing? Especially with the crowds that will come for YEARS. Interest is at it's peak point, it won't go down for a while...
And there are enough different shops to make it work. Ice Cream/Soda Parlour works with the ice cream shop from the books (they can invent quite a few cool flavors IMO)... They could have a Kings Cross kind of deal if they used London as well as Diagon Alley (IDK how they'd want to do it, if it was simply Diagon Alley, that'd be great, but with a London part to it, more variety)... They've got Gringotts, the Leaky Cauldron, a second Ollivanders, A whole heap of window display shops that are 'closed', and other shops I've got to check in the books about (haven't read Sorcerer's Stone for a while)... Like I said, throw in London and you've got a Hogwarts Express walkthrough type deal...

Whatever it is, J.K. Rowling has a lot of control. Sorry if you think that it would be repetitive, or as has been the biggest complaint, completely uncannon (and I'm sorry, but where there's a will, there's a way to make it work), if J.K. Rowling said yes to it, than it would be anything but that.

New expansions means new merchandise!! Eek!

--- Update ---

How meta would it be if they added Nicholson Cafe right before the mouth Wizarding World?

Although a novel idea, I doubt they would want to split the 2 areas. IOA is about being immersed in the areas, USF is about living the movies, and you're suppossed to feel like you're actually in the area, not visiting a movie set.

Let's think about this though...IOA is about books. USF is about movies. Potter has both...why wouldn't it be in both parks? That would force everyone to buy a two park pass. Universal is in the money making business. Jaws is tired. Amity is lame. Disaster and Twister have to go...Lombards could become anything. USF needs and major facelift. Potter might be it.

But still, Uni should not be about being immersed in an experience, it should feel like a movie set. WWoHP is the opposite. The whole idea is okay in theory, but I do not believe would be well received by anyone.

Honestly, anything harry potter would be well received pretty much anywhere. I'm not crazy about this idea, but I've always thought it would be cool if they have a way to connect IAO and Universal in the back. So what are the other ideas out there besides Diagon Alley? Sorry if this has already been discussed, but it's hard to keep up with all the harry potter talk on here

I'd say a London area with the Ministry of magic Kings Cross station, a muggle Starbucks and other muggle shops. I would also like to see a shrieking shack Facade in Hogsmeade.
Maybe the knight bus in the london area. I would love to see a Live wizard dueling show,
it would be lovely to see an outdoor Womping willow. Maybe a trail where we can encounter some magical creatures in the forbidden forest.

God, I love these 3 ideas! These ideas are, in my mind, exactly what the WWoHP needs in a phase 2. Maybe a bit more, and definitely a ride or two, but I really can't think of much else.

You're still off about Diagon Alley, that's why you can't think of anything xD...

I like the plan jj3352 has in mind, but London, and Diagon Alley are what I see happening... Not that I wouldn't love a Whomping Willow experience! :D, but that's towards the front/side of Hogwarts, and we don't really have anywhere to go with it (other than behind Hogwarts, which wouldn't be so bad if HP had a back that could be expanded into *scratching head*)...

Here's how I see an expansion. Takeover the rest of LC. It's going anyway, we know it's coming.

Mythos = Leaky Cauldron/Diagon Alley entrance...
Alrighty, so I'm thinking everything from Mythos to Posiedon's Fury would be "London". Posiedon's Fury being some sort of Ministry attraction... I'm still debating what to do with the whole Mystic Fountain section.
Alright, so moving away from London, we go to Mytho's, and in the back is the entrance to Diagon Alley. With the crowds going through, I don't see any kind of interactive Diagon Alley entrance working properly at first. Once crowds die down, maybe they could have some sort of event for it.
Now on to Diagon Alley itself. I see Sinbad's building being completely redone, as it's a stage attraction at the moment. Either that or bulldozing it and making it a new building for the Gringotts coaster.
Past that, I see it being similar to Hogsmeade and at the same time very different (ice cream parlour, Ollivanders duplicate [much needed], a quill shop similar to the Post office in Hogsmeade, and a few other shops that are escaping me right now...).
Oh, and possible some sort of Hogwarts Express walkthrough attraction from London section to Hogsmeade village?

I think Universal should add a Potter Preview Center somewhere in CityWalk or close to the WWOHP in IOA to help non-Potter fans like myself appreciate and understand everything we're seeing and doing

All you have to do is read the books

It's easy to get lost if you don't listen/look carefully... If you kind of skimp through the first and second books, you can get the idea...
But I definitely see your point, sadly, no areas do this. Most people don't know what ingen is at JP, or half the villians in Spiderman... You just kind of get the hang of it
