Summer 2015 most likely, or sooner.

I'm shooting for longer only because nearly everything here is coming from scratch. Most of phase one was a retrofit, besides FJ. I could be wrong, but I really don't see Summer 2014 happening.

Ehhh... I have to disagree here. Hogsmeade Village, with the exception of some bathrooms and the Three Broomsticks kitchen, was built from the ground up. While Dragon Challenge and Flight of the Hippogriff were, in fact, retrofits, the construction of any additional attractions for Phase 2 should fit comfortably within the timeline needed to complete the Gringotts ride. That being said, I would guess that we can expect a similar construction time-frame for the Gringotts ride that we saw for FJ, or perhaps even faster given how quickly they've been moving lately.

That being said, I'm going with Holiday 2014.

A holiday 2014 WOULD make sense to me..maybe stretch the opening to spring of 2015. Seeing how fast the site construction is moving and the fact that Universal does want this open quickly I can see an earlier opening date.

The incentive that Universal is giving its workers and contractors plays a huge role in how fast this will be built.

We've already seen what they can do, and we will continue to see this frenzied construction up until next year, when I'm almost more than sure it will grow in speed exponentially with increased ticket sales due to the opening of Transformers (which I strongly believe will open in 2013).

And once this takes off and we start seeing extensive infrastructural work with the facades and showbuildings, Universal will announce the plans of the expansion with a few pieces of concept art. The already stronger publicity team will take this head-on and will probably take a more conservative approach to what the Disney blog is doing (which is constantly releasing spoilers and alleged sneak peaks). They'll drive the expansion with strong secrecy, and ALL the forums will be bustling again, making us guess and speculate until we're at the millimeter level, but they'll give us what we want before too long, like with Phase I.

This buzz will lead us directly to an almost blatantly planned 2014 opening. Whether or not this happens will be a direct outcome of how successful the next few attractions before Phase II (and Cabana Bay) are to the parks.

Speaking of attractions, have we heard about any additional attractions for Phase Two aside from the Gringotts ride? WWoHP has three attractions (I know, I know, two of them were already there), so I would hope that we'll see at least one additional ride here, even if its something small.

I highly doubt it will have anything besides Gringotts and Hogwarts Express because of the size of the buildings being constructed. Perhaps there was an extra attraction planned somewhere in the scope of this project besides these two, but it might have been replaced with Transformers, with which I'm perfectly alright (as long as we don't get that mural).

See this graphic I made:

You can see that instead of expanding the building towards FFL, they are now starting to expand it out towards the path! The structure is gigantic. I'm also starting to get very curious about that second tower crane that they still haven't started putting up yet. I would have expected it to be used for Gringotts, but most of the show building structure is already in place. Do they really need it for the shop buildings and other smaller structures that will make up the London/Diagon Alley area?

I think the tower cranes are going to be used for everything except Gringotts.

Well we already knew the one on the Disaster side would be for the Hogwarts Express building, as it sounds to be pretty substantial. However, surely the Gringotts structure is the largest/heaviest on that side of the addition, and if they don't need it for that, I can't imagine why they would need it for the other stuff. From my admittedly unknowing view about how efficient one type of crane is versus another for certain jobs, I can't think of how the tower crane would be better for the smaller structures of Diagon Alley than what they've used for Gringotts already.

Limited surface area due to wide spread construction makes a tower crane a must.

They are literally having to build every aspect of Diagon Alley from the ground up. As hatetofly said, the second tower crane helps immensely in that regard. Additionally, the maneuverability allows for faster construction times and cuts down on time wasted having to move a smaller crane around the site.

Hmmm...that makes sense. I guess I thought there was more room back there than there really is.

I have heard many times that they are shooting for a June 2015 opening. Around the 5th anniversary of the original WWOHP.

Transformers- June 2013
Suess Addition- June 2014
Potter 2.0- June 2015

Suess to get another attraction before Jurassic Park can get something?

Yes, I am hearing that the Mt. Crumpet coaster is out and we will be getting a Lorax attraction instead.

It would seem to me when Potter opens it will be in the summer. So either summer 2014 or 2015. More likely 2015. They wouldn't do it over winter holiday season...they want to catch summer crowds as that's when they'll likely catch the biggest crowds/buzz from it. Basically what they did with WWoHP in IOA.

Whoa, wasn't expecting a Suess addition before Potter. That's a solid plan of additions there though. Is there any indication on when they will start work for Suess?

If it's still coming before Potter, I'd assume it would have to be soon-ish. Like by the new year.
