All I can say is that I hope that Disney has something REALLY cool planned for Avatarland! They should have gone with the Hobbit/Lord of the Rings for Animal Kingdom instead. By the way.........does anyone know who owns the rights to use those movies in theme parks?

The Tolkein estate has not sold the theme park rights to anyone. And personally I don't expect them to.

I for one would like to see the LOTR properties stay out of the theme parks. I know from a friend of mine who works for WDI that Disney is still trying to get the rights to LOTR. I say they should give up. Disney already has watered down StarWars to the point of where at least IMO it's become a parody of itself. How many different characters does Disney have to amalgamize with Mickey,Donald,Goofy and the Muppets before other die hard SW fans like myself turn away from WDW? anyways...I'm super psyched to watch the WWoHP continue to grow and can't wait until it's open and we can all stroll through.

And on the topic of not expecting anything: Avatarland. Don't get your hopes up guys. Look forward/enjoy what DHS will be getting, bc it seems like that is the closest we're going to get to a response from Disney at the moment.

The angles and distance are deceiving. I posted an overlay of mummy in the same area a time ago and it fills it up just as much as the water management plan outlines for this project.

To get a better idea of what Teebin is saying (just for visual sake) pause the video when the train gets to the first brake run (43 seconds is perfoct) on the coaster and you'll be able to see the size of the mummy building. I never noticed it before but it is quite large. Thanks Teebin!

As gigantic as it looks from the park, it actually looks even bigger from a certain parking lot, even Turkey Lake Rd. It may not be larger than Mummy in terms of ground space, but it certainly appears that it is when you look at the frame.

fact is, all of those building facades are lower profile additional structures. . None of them are actually part of the rectangle that is the massive soundstage.

Don't you live in the Tampa area? Can't figure out why you went to Orlando 5 days straight. :look:
