I think the G-forces are one of the main hurdles Disneyhead is alluding to. It would have to be a VERY ingenious design and a rather tame launch (closer to 40 mph than 60 mph), but wow, if this happened, I'd be thrilled. Kong and any eventual Seuss addition will be very family-geared, so I don't mind a thrill ride every once in a while.

An indoor one of these would be insane. I wonder how sets would be

Well if its not screen based...I'm imagining like Peter Pan's Flight and ET where they would use scale models underneath and then use the technology for the ceiling in Knockturn Alley to create the sky effect they are going for.

I lurk through this thread often, but after seeing this rumor I had to post. I've rode the Superman ride at Great Adventure and was not crazy about the ride and the position you're in. Have yet to ride the Manta coaster at SeaWorld. BUT....I've been saying for years that Marvel needs a new ride/expansion, especially where that amphitheater is. Also, Iron Man is my favorite hero and always wished he had a bigger presence in the park. Especially now with the movies, he's in the upper tier of Marvel heroes with Hulk, Spider-Man etc. So I would totally welcome this potential ride.

And I agree about the cartoony feel of MSHI. It just feels so 90's. And as a 90's kid who grew up with those Spider-Man, X-Men, Iron Man cartoons , it's like a step back into childhood. Love the whole environment. My personal favorite land in Universal

I agree the vibe MSHI gives off and its uniqueness and differentiation from the Marvel movies makes it appealing. A lot of Pixie Dusters criticize it but Ive always thought it was one of IOA's best themed lands just because it does exactly what it sets out to do--its supposed to be garish and a little cheesy but its done well.

That being said, I doubt the general public would eat up an old-school Iron Man ride as much as they would a Downey Jr one. And Universal knows this, and I bet it makes them a little weary of investing an indoor first-of-its-kind roller coaster, especially when theres something similar right at SeaWorld. Without the appeal of a movie tie-in, the actual ride has to be the primary selling point, which makes it risky.

But we also have to remember, like Marvel Studios; Universal Orlando can take a Bomb but take 2 bombs then they have a issue. I feel whatever

the new MSHI ride would make something unique and interesting BUT. That's not what this Thread is about, this thread is on King Kong so lets

just move this to a new thread..

Well I have no doubt if this ever comes into reality we will probably get the same kind of animation as in let's say the Spider-Man queue and the model they would use for iron man would probably bare a striking resemblance to Robert but not actually be him. I honestly don't know about this idea or if it could even work, especially about the ride being indoors. It would be great but by the way things are looking now in the resort I don't think anybody should get their hopes up for it, back to :kingkong:

yeah MSHI is also my favorite land (well, before Potter came) I love the art work, I love the drawings all around, love the big Wolverine, Love the stores.

It truly is amazing to see, specially if you actually grew up watching those cartoons.

I think an Iron Man ride based on the comic or the cartoon would be kind of weird though,

If it's a coaster or a thrill ride, it won't "bomb". People eat them up, and theme generally doesn't matter. DAK added a coaster about a giant furry ape-man and raised their attendance by a million or so.

Here's an interesting patent by B&M for a new load system for their flying coaster:

I think an Iron Man coaster would be the easiest out of all the super heroes to make a new ride for that can't have anything to do with the movie. They could just not show Tony Stark at all and simply show the hero in the suit the whole time.

I have not been over to this thread in awhile. I know there was some initial clearing of the area, but has anymore construction been going on at the Kong site?

Universal has all kinds of attractions planned and pitched. One non-screened attraction pitch I recently heard about was an indoor launched B&M flyer for MSHI.

We'll just say that there are few hurdles before this one happens.

To get things straight, this has been pitched for real? So this is something that could possibly happen?

They've definitely looked at Marvel for expansion. Disneyhead seems to know more about the project, but they're definitely considering it

If they have plans to get rid of MIB sometime in the future, it would be nice to have at least one shooter ride left in one of the park instead of another coaster, and I think Iron Man could work. What if the ride vehicle was like the pitched coaster idea where you're on your stomach, but on a kuka arm? It would be as if you were stepping into a simpler version of the iron man suit? Then for each person there would be a repulsor glove on a cord that you could slip on and shoot Hydra robots or AIM robots or goons, etc. it would definitely be a unique spin on the shooter style ride. What do you guys think?

Wow I would have never guessed we would see a new ride at MSHI until it was re-branded. I'm pretty intrigued but if it were a launch flying coaster I really hope they can make it more comfortable. Hopefully it being indoor would help grab your focus as to what you should be looking at. I went on Manta for the first time a couple of months ago and after hearing all the hype was let down. I couldn't get comfortable, pretty much had no clue what was going on after the loop, and was not keen on hanging there for what seemed like a long time waiting to get back into the loading station.
