People keep saying this, but it really isn't a legitimate reason to look forward to an otherwise mediocre attraction. If I want to look at those buildings, I'll go to NYC.

Come on. It's making the theme of a theme park remarkably better. Let's not belittle that.

Still my question. Will Tina Fey (Miss 30 Rock) make an appearance & take off her dress :faint:like she did on Letterman. But, more seriously, i could see an appearance by the Rockettes in a musical number, and that would be cool.

See, I'm exactly opposite. I haven't done Twister in years, and I like Fallon and other NBC IPs like SNL and 30 Rock.

I am very curious about this attraction.

I'm in the exact same boat. Jimmy Fallon is hilarious and a fantastic entertainer. Sure, this attraction could be lame, but Twister is already pretty lame. There is a 98% chance that this will be an improvement over what is currently there.

USF doesn't need any more E-tickets right now. Fallon/Tonight Show will be a solid, quality C-ticket attraction, and that's fine. Really, it's great, because that's what the park needs right now.

I would kind of argue that last thing the park needs in the Twister space is another 3D attraction. That's all the front of the park is going to have to offer (unless you count RRR, which I don't). I just think it's a shame that we're going to lose a unique experience (whatever you think of Twister's overall quality, there's nothing else like it in the park, and it helps create a balance of ride/show experiences) for an attraction that - at best - will be similar in its execution to several other attractions already in the park. Maybe it'll be a fun ride, but will it be better than the other simulator-ish rides like Despicable Me, Transformers, or Gringotts? Probably not, and therefore, I don't think its existence will be justified.

I'm all for C-ticket type experiences. I would just like them to be more unique and distinctive than this Fallon thing - sight unseen, of course, and based purely on speculation, I acknowledge - sounds like it will be.

That was an attempt at humor on my part. Clearly a failed attempt, at that! I just don't think it's a very good ride.

Well then  To each their own, I enjoy Rockit despite the flaws it has (roughness, too many break runs).

In concept, it's cool. I just find the execution to be lacking. If it works for you, that's great! Hell, I'm the guy who unironically really enjoys Twister!

Apparently Jimmy Fallon severely injured his hand and couldn't film the Tonight show today.

Nothing to do with this really, except the fact that basing an attraction based on a current celebrity can be difficult if something bad happens to them.

I'm not very excited about this attraction but I do welcome it. Mostly because most of the new generation don't even know Twister was a movie.
I worked at Twister for a couple of years and the fact is, you can't do anything major with the building, it is just too small and now Rock It surrounds the building, so there's no room for expansion. Actually even the outside queue was cut in half due to Rock It's beams/poles, and there's zero inside. So even if you want to make a simple omnimover ride in there, it would be pathetically short. NOW! if they are doing a Soarin' (rumor) type of ride, where the audience benches turn all of a sudden into a Soarin' ride, then I will give my thumbs up. Not because I like Soarin' but because it is by nature a very famous ride "for whatever reason" and it's a direct competion to WDW "which it's one of Comcast top priorities". Plus they are actually thinking of putting a ride inside that tiny shoe box? That's something I want to see lol.

It would be cool if the attraction was a virtual Tonight Show set where you could "virtually watch" a taping of The Tonight Show, live, in real time, as they tape it in NYC. One show per day, around 4PM or whenever they tape.

So Fallon essentially has two audiences - the NY audience, and the Orlando audience (which they could cut to on-air if needed, or Fallon could even interact with for Q+A segments, etc.)

Occasional on-air callouts to the Universal Studios studio audience in Orlando would be a major synerg-, ahem, "symphony" win for the company.

That's actually a great idea, but due to the fact that talk shows film live on tape (i.e. in the same block of time as it would appear on its timeslot with nearly no post-editing) means that you couldn't have a complicated musion type deal. It would have to be literally a big screen with smaller flats above the audience, a couple camera guys and maybe a warm-up comedian. However in order to ensure the audience would be seen on TV, every single taping Jimmy would have to call over to the ORL audience. And that'd be odd.

The point of going to a live taping is to well, see a live taping. Jimmy, the Roots, the celebs, they are all right in front of you. A remote taping is a novel idea, but really not enough to use attraction space for it. Especially since Jimmy most nights will literally cut to them ONCE and that's it. And yea, I realize that tourists would love that, but they'd also have to sit there for a full hour while the show films. You'd have to make sure that everybody puts all phones and cameras in lockers for a long amount of time, nearly impossible with tourists mulling around after a day at the park. It just seems like an interesting idea which would be more of a nightmare as a daily thing. Also it wouldn't be available on the weekends or the weeks Jimmy is off, you would have to have an alternative.

I don't like the Soarin Over Fallon either, but I do like the idea of the facades getting beautified.

I must admit that the Twister movie and 'ride' holds a special place in my childhood...

I also enjoy the fact that it is practical, and it is just a slice of 90's goodness..

Fallon will be a great move for Universal as 1) he will sell merch and 2) the facade will be redone

Just because it exists doesn't mean people will be flocking to buy it. I do see some potential for NBC shows-related stuff, like from The Office, Parks and Rec, 30 Rock, and especially SNL...if they decide to go that route (which IMO they should have done a while ago).
