If you were sure, you alerted a blues unit, who would then ask to see said bulge. However, looking for guns was frowned upon, as it was a 'waste of the undercover's time' to look for bulges. The two best we had at finding weapons were more often discouraged, rather than encouraged, to spot them.

It's not all that bad, I can say the vast majority of the people I've encountered entering the park with guns were off duty police.

And remember, if it's happening like that at Disney, it sure as hell is happening the same at Universal and Sea world too. Universal is strict on certain things at bag check, but those guys aren't checking your body. As long as you aren't acting/don't look suspicious, you could get anything in.

Also, i'd just like to point out that this is in no way confirmed. It's just a blurb from Intercot as of now.

Smart idea. Too many crazy folks in this world and if anything happened at Disney World would have huge rippling effects across the board for tourism. I'm guessing this is having to do with the guy who tried to bring a gun into the park last week. Even then if there was just one shot fired...it would have 9/11 level ramifications for Disney.

Do you know of any articles about the guy who brought the gun in? Seems interesting.

Man tries to bring gun into Disney World, deputies say | www.wftv.com

He had it in his pants apparently and when question he joked it was "part of his anatomy". The security let an officer know to follow him, once the guy noticed, he ran, police brought out a gun and told him to get down, he surrendered.

I agree....but this may be changing due to recent events such as San Bernardino. My biggest fear for the parks was never a bomb attack on the castle or such, but a San Bernardino type shooting at a place like Disney Springs, which is so wide open and has no place to check anything.

I am definitely not the type to be scared or paranoid, but last month when I went to Aquatica just at opening time, I was the second in the park, the first was this guy in front of me wearing a large dust coat and a cowboy type hat, he did not look like someone dressed to go to a water park (he was carrying a towel though). Anyway, I had to take a right to go to the lockers and he took a left towards the beach and I did not see him again, but every time I passed the beach I kept my eyes open, and though not afraid, I did feel a sense of unease, then, I am a writer ...

Bloodbath on a beach came to mind, it was just so odd. As I said, though I am not fearful at all, I am always very observant, it is in my nature ... but this actually made me think, what would I do?

Now if guns weren't so easily accessible, especially to mentally ill people... we wouldn't have to worry so much. Vote accordingly. :ears:

Well I'll try to stay out of the political aspect of this, but gun laws really have no bearing at all on this. Guns are currently and even if they completely outright banned them pretty easy to get so the concern behind these security checks would remain the same. My understanding is the gun laws in France are far more restrictive than here in the U.S. and I believe I've heard that the DLP security checkpoints are actually more intense than the ones here so obviously if that's the case at the very least it's not a factor.

I don't remember DLP's security being any tighter than any of the other resorts at all. Unless this is recent...

Maybe so, I'm not too familiar. My point is they still have them. If the laws suddenly changed I don't think they would be able to suddenly loosen up on security.

Parkscope is reporting that TTC boats were swept with sniffer dogs and UOR has relocated bag searches. I think it wise to break up searches to separate areas. If something untoward happens at one location then the other locations have more of a chance of running for safety. Dark stuff and dark times...

The dogs are used all the time on all the transportation. It's nothing new, I think people are just noticing it now.

Generally, after a big incident, more publicity occurs even though the security reactions may be routine.

Does disney own sniffer dogs? If so, then I had no idea.

Yes they do, in fact I remember seeing their Disney employee ID. I thought it was neat that they made one for them.

They also have K-9 units for pest control as well. Those are Beagles.
