the more pictures the merrier. I love backstage photos, even after the ride is complete. Photos/Videos from Lights on Emergency exits are always great.

Just completed what will probably be my last construction update for Pandora here. Cannot wait to get to experience it all in person on May 13th, (or maybe sooner if softs happen prior as rumored.)

The berm and trees are looking good behind Pandora, and a new bus drop-off is quickly being constructed as well. I wonder if they're going to seed the berm, as it's still pretty much a pile of dirt currently. I noticed a few small details I hadn't before and when I zoomed my camera in I could actually see the waterfall on the floating mountain when I was there.

Video:

Photo Highlights:

Hoping they don’t replace the dragon with a banshee after Pandora opens:

We're so close to these walls coming down!

The inner work walls have gone from wood to fabric wraps:
P1100502.jpg

P1100503.jpg

Folding chairs were seen on the bridge while I was there:
P1100508.jpg

Just noticed the RDA logos all over this bridge. The RDA was the “Resources Development Administration” in Avatar, the corporation in charge of all natural resource mining on off-Earth locations, including Pandora. In the new land, the story is that the RDA left many years ago, which is why this bridge, and other RDA infrastructure, appear in disarray after being reclaimed by nature.

The view from the park entrance turnstiles:

Little mountains “floating” in the distance, (look how big that bird must be!)
P1100438.jpg

This big floating mountain has the waterfall:

And if you look really really close you can see the water flowing off the mountain:

Part 2 of 2:

This is the view from behind the Rainforest Cafe:

A look under the mountains:

Checking out the back of the area as seen from the bus turnaround:

P1100412.jpg

Once these trees fill out a little more it will be even harder to see Pandora from the buses:

From some angles you can sneak a peak:

Well hidden area as seen from bus dropoff:

Backside of the show building’s facade:

New bus drop-off being constructed:

For the most part, it just looks like a nondescript building from this view:

That's all for now. More pics can be seen here!

Alicia, like VB, tons of bedding plants and shrubs will be planted and mulched on the new DK berm, otherwise, all the sand would wash away.

BTW: You should make a point to go back and take similar angled pictures in October... the difference should be startling.

I'm scheduled for noon, but have a Yak and Yeti reservation later so will stick around to see what I can see before leaving. Even if I won't be allowed in the area, I'm curious to see how the mountains will be illuminated. (Of course if softs start before then I'll be there allllll day until they let me in, just like the good 'ol Kong days.)

I will for sure keep documenting this in my semi-monthly park updates.

As usual, a fantastic update! The place looks pretty close to ready to go!

Slightly off-topic question: what's the first music track you use in that video? I know I've heard it before, but can't place it!

Thanks! Animal Kingdom has such great area music. I mean, all the parks do, but AK's really sets the mood.

My daughter signed up for the CM lottery for previews. I'll let you know if she gets in and her impressions of the new land.
We have never seen Avatar so curious to see what she thinks of it.

The floating mountain looks like 'Crush the Turtle'! It even has a face. My daughter asked what the Turtle was when we were spotting landmarks from Mountain Gushmore. Same angle today going in on tram. (AliciaStella - excuse me using your photo)IMG_8208.PNG

Think of it as a rear 3/4 view, with him swimming away from the camera and right-to-left. The main bulk of the mountain in the lower right is the shell, the protruding upper part is the head, and at the top left of the head there's even a white eye with a pupil in the middle of it. That's funny.

Thanks for the photos @AliciaStella. Can't wait to get a proper look inside here through everyone's pictures soon.
